Hebrews 7:19  For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

James 4:8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

We are advised, and wisely so, to keep social distancing from one another. But God is not contagious, nor will you infect Him. In fact, it just may be that we will actually be healed and lifted up when we defy the law of man and draw near to God. While we may be socially starving, it could very well be that God is saying to you and me – who have made a zillion excuses for why we did not have time to pray or sit alone with God – “Now what’s your excuse?”

Jesus Christ has made a way for us to have up close, intimate fellowship with God. What an incredible gift! What could be more fulfilling than spending time alone with our Savior? I really believe that God has given us this time to rekindle and refresh our fellowship with Him. Draw near to Him today, saints. Take advantage of the sport and entertainment shutdown to listen to Jesus. Turn off the bad news and tune into The Master’s good news station where you will hear a message of life, hope, joy, and peace, and receive an embrace from God that will infect you with His love that can be shared with one another.
