In the Light of the Lambs Children’s Ministry, we are studying the book of Genesis. We have recently learned that God has given man “dominion” over creation (Genesis 1:26-28). We learned that dominion means that we rule over creation as good stewards and have the responsibility to take care of it and maintain it. We also learned that God is sovereign. He is in control and He does what He pleases, and He is a good God. He is gracious and merciful to man, but He is holy and just. He hates sin and must punish sin. We know that He brought a worldwide flood to judge the sinfulness of man in Genesis 6, and He will again judge this fallen world at the end of the age with fire (2 Peter 3:4-11).
We can trust in the LORD, for he promised that he would never bring about a worldwide flood again. “I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:21,22)
What a wonderful promise! God is FAITHFUL! Our God is in control of the weather and seasons, the dark and the light, the seeds and harvest! This is a great comfort to us, especially when there are so many climate alarmists fear mongering (deliberately arousing public fear). For example, Al Gore predicted that the polar ice caps would be melted by 2014, and many major cities, like New York City would be under water. I have to say, I am really disappointed this didn’t come to fruition, because we could use some warmer weather in Rochester, and I have always wanted to have waterfront property! We will continue to pray for global warming to happen; wait, I mean climate change.
Isn’t it interesting that the term “Global Warming” was rebranded “Climate Change”? Remember, Genesis 8:22 mentions “cold and heat”, and God is in control of these weather factors. The rebranding may have occurred after the Global Warming summit in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009, with record-breaking cold temperatures. God had the last word on Global Warming! The Copenhagen treaty would have brought about a 2% tax on GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and on all financial transactions, as well as adding 700 United Nations bureaucracies, with all tax revenue going to the World Bank (Rothschilds). But by God’s mercy the treaty was not approved. One man who was not fooled by the Global Warming fear mongering was Lord Christopher Monckton. Lord Monckton confronted the true agenda behind the Copenhagen summit with this statement: “Once again they are desperately trying to conceal from everybody here the magnitude of what they’re attempting to do – they really are attempting to set up a world government.”
Climate change or global warming is really about bringing about the one world government, and charging everyone on the planet taxes for breathing out carbon dioxide, which is not a pollutant, but a beneficial molecule essential for photosynthesis. God has created a wonderful symbiotic relationship between man and plant life, whereby carbon dioxide breathed out is taken by plants and turned into oxygen for man.
Other examples of fear mongering about the environment are Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Beto O’Rourke, who both claimed that the world would end in twelve years unless we radically obeyed their climate change initiatives. DO NOT FEAR, God is on the throne! These claims are as empty and false as the politicians proclaiming them. The problem today is people don’t know the glorious Creator who is faithful and sovereign. The creation is elevated above the Creator God, and He is not given the glory He is due. Proclaim the good news of JESUS, the risen Savior, faithful and sovereign!
Do you believe God is sovereign over weather, climate, and has magnificently designed creation to work in amazing harmony? Will you believe the word of God, or the word of man?
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who SUPPRESS THE TRUTH in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, that THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE!” (Romans 1:18-20, emphasis added)
