The work of our pastors is never ending, and unfortunately, they do not have enough hours in each day to personally attend to every need that we (all of us!) have on a daily basis. Ray and Ben want to be sure we are all served and loved; therefore, they formed a ministry to do exactly that.

The Care Group consists of mature Christians who can discreetly serve many needs that come before our pastors. We visit people in hospitals, drop off flowers, mail notes of encouragement, attend funerals, make phone calls, and occasionally make small home repairs or transport brothers and sisters to appointments.

If you receive a phone call or a card in the mail from one or more members of the group, be assured that we have been asked by one of the pastors to contact you, or we may have seen your need on the prayer chain and just want to let you know the Lord cares. We all need love and encouragement.

Many friendships have been formed between people who never knew each other until we met through contacting them. Care Group members are often the ones who end up encouraged, blessed and ministered to by the individuals and families we visit!

There are so many lovely brethren we have the privilege to meet and love. God is so good, and His ways of ministering to His people are as effective today as they were in the Apostle Paul’s day when he wrote, “But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I may be of good comfort, when I know your state.” (Philippians 2:19)

We can also bless our pastors by serving others and letting our pastors know how they are doing. Ray and Ben can’t be in 10 places at once, so it is a comfort to their hearts to know that others are there doing some of the things that they wish they could. We are truly blessed to help in any way we can. If you are interested in joining our Care Group, please contact the church office (385-0450).

Love, Tom and Susan Pazda
