"Lucy" had planned to carry her pregnancy to term and raise her child. However, when the father of the baby abandoned her and her toddler in her second trimester, she decided to get an abortion. Her internet search for information led her to CompassCare. Lucy wanted her nurse to refer her for a surgical abortion, but she was reminded CompassCare does not provide or refer for abortion. She was uninterested in the services offered to her, saying she is already seventeen weeks along and has been receiving prenatal care. Pray God uses Lucy's brief interaction with her CompassCare nurse to cause her to pause and think. Pray this child's life is spared. ------ "Rose" came to CompassCare for a pregnancy appointment. She said she is at her maximum capacity raising four children. She also explained she's had two abortions in the past. She was hoping to get an abortion before this baby has a heartbeat. At her first appointment, Rose's pregnancy was too early to confirm. She came back two more times, looking to confirm her pregnancy via ultrasound and bloodwork. Throughout the process she expressed ambivalence about abortion. At her most recent appointment, she saw her seven-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen and heard his strong heartbeat. "I'm not a fan of abortion," she said. "That heartbeat is significant." Pray the seeds of the gospel planted in Rose's heart take root and grow. Pray she experiences a change of heart and mind and abortion becomes unthinkable. ------- "Joan" came to CompassCare for information and free medical services. She is considering abortion because she would prefer to spend this time in her life building a career, not raising a child. She told her nurse she's had two abortions previously. "I'm sorry," she added, hanging her head. The ultrasound exam revealed an early pregnancy but viability could not be confirmed. Joan had no observable reaction to what she saw. She listened to the gospel but had no interest in surrendering her life to Christ. Joan also declined making a return appointment. Pray for Joan's heart to be softened and her conscience fully awakened to truth. Pray the gospel transforms her life and she decides to continue her pregnancy. ------- UPDATE: At the time of her last contact with CompassCare, "Pearl" (raising toddler, living w/mother, baby's father in military) stated she had scheduled an abortion. Her nurse has not yet been able to confirm if she went through with it. Pearl told her nurse she cannot physically or emotionally extend herself further to raise another child, let alone two. She was still battling extreme nausea and vomiting. The ultrasound exam showed one twin was growing and the other had no heartbeat. Pearl tearfully took a video of her baby on the screen and seemed conflicted. "Since now there's only one, I'm only half as bad a person," Pearl thought aloud. She planned to go to her abortion appointment alone and seemed to want to get it over with quickly. Pray for Pearl to meet Christ at this crucial moment in her life. Pray her nurse has another opportunity to speak with and minister to Pearl.

Lynn

UPDATE from Lynn on Marilou B.: After three days in the hospital she is still in a recliner in the hallway of the emergency department because they do not have a room or even a bed for her. And the intestinal infection she has is contagious! She reports she is feeling some better and is stronger and wants to go home to care for herself (and get some sleep!), but the doctor is not willing to discharge her yet. Please continue to pray for the Lord's grace, wisdom, protection, and peace for Marilou, and for compassion, stamina and strength for all the healthcare workers forced to deal with such difficult circumstances.

"Allison" is a teen girl who feels unprepared for motherhood. When she found out she is pregnant, she immediately searched for abortion information online and found CompassCare. She booked an appointment and came in for free pregnancy services. Her ultrasound revealed an early pregnancy but viability could not be confirmed. When talking with her nurse, she said the idea of abortion makes her a bit sad. She was willing to take time to consider her decision and return for another appointment. When her nurse shared the gospel, Allison decided to surrender control of her life to Christ. Please pray Allison has the courage to tell her mom about the pregnancy and she seeks God's will for her life, trusting Him with her future. ------- "Sunny" has been addicted to drugs for her entire adult life. "I can't remember the last time I was clean," she told her nurse. She has a teenager at home and does not have custody of her other child. She feels she must get an abortion, although the father of the baby wants her to carry to term. Sunny poured out her heart to her nurse, saying she is afraid the baby will be addicted to drugs or have developmental problems. She also has several serious health issues herself from years of drug use. She is already showing signs of complications from the pregnancy and she is afraid she could die from pregnancy or birth. Her ultrasound revealed an active twelve-week-old baby. She said it was "hard" to see him. "I want him," she said. She feels conflicted about the best thing to do. When her nurse shared the gospel, she prayed to surrender her life to Christ. Her nurse gave her a referral to a high risk OB who specializes in addiction. She and Sunny prayed together for miraculous healing and health for her and the baby. Please pray for total transformation in Sunny's life. Pray God allays her every fear and protects this baby from all harm.

Pastor Tony

From Pastor Tony: Antoinette P. requests prayer for her brother Anthony, a believer in the Lord, who is going through difficult times and suffers with many physical concerns including severe diabetes. He has lost some toes from this, and currently another toe is infected and may need to be amputated. -------- UPDATES: Rick Juszkiewicz's physicians are trying to regulate his vital signs, especially blood pressure. Our Brother in Christ continues trusting in the "Great Physician". He said: "Please let everyone know how much I appreciate their love for me and my family, and for their prayers." ------- Peter C.'s brother in law Andy remains in a Buffalo hospital with broken hip and internal bleeding. He continues receiving blood transfusions. Please pray they find the source of the bleeding. Peter says that Andy is so grateful for the people he doesn't even know taking the time to pray for his full recovery. -------- Mary Jean reports her husband is doing much better lately, in that his lower back pain has lessened and his mobility has improved. They are thankful to the Lord for this blessing. However, Michael's knees have been in pain and may require knee replacement surgery in the future. They both thank you all for your prayers!! -------- Michael Grabowski is so thankful to be fitted for his leg prosthetic device, and was able to walk a few feet with two assisting, a blessing. His other leg is weak from non use and PT is helping to improve his strength/stamina. Mike is keeping his eyes/heart on the Lord, who is continually giving him strength, mentally, physically and spiritually, allowing him to keep on keeping on in faith.

Please pray for my brother-in-law, Mike. He is having his second open heart surgery on Thursday. The first valve, which should have lasted 20 years, only lasted a few years. So they will be giving him a metal valve this time, along with an aortic root enlargement because of scar tissue. Please pray for peace, as he is very anxious. Also, my son's mother-in-law, Gail, is in the hospital on a ventilator with Covid and not doing well. Pray for her and her family.
