"V" was doing regular parenting classes but has been feeling overwhelmed and struggles with depression and anxiety. Pray for a cancellation to open up with the developmental specialists so her son can get the support needed for autism, and pray for financial help with housing deposit so they can move to a safer environment. ------- Pray for a new mom who has lost her job due to Covid regulations. She has a new job lined up for start in mid-January, but her vehicle broke and she doesn’t have the funds to repair right now. ------- Pray one of the women & children's residential programs will have an opening soon and a particular mom with little ones will have the determination to follow through and go there. Pray for her mental, physical and emotional health. ------- Praise the Lord that "A"'s baby girl (delivered 7 weeks early) is doing well in the NICU. Please pray for complete recovery for "A" from the C-section. She is Muslim and is asking a lot of questions about Jesus. She was given a Bible by a friend. Please pray that she will come to faith in Christ.

PRAISE REPORT: Marilou reports she was moved late yesterday to another floor because of the proximity of Covid patients, and today (Tuesday) she has a different doctor, who is discharging her. PTL! They are setting her up with some PT and assistance at home until she regains strength, and she is very happy to be going home after 3 and 1/2 weeks in the hospital. Please continue to pray for her full recovery. Thank you!

CompassCare

UPDATE: "Sunny" came to CompassCare full of fear. Years of drug addiction have ravaged her health and her family life. She feared her health was too poor to carry a healthy baby. She felt getting an abortion could spare her and her child from suffering. After seeing her active twelve-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen, she said, "I want him." Her nurse shared the gospel with her, and Sunny surrendered her life to Christ in the exam room. She and her nurse prayed for miraculous health for her and her baby. Sunny gratefully took a referral to an OB who specializes in addiction. When her nurse reached out to follow-up with her, Sunny said she has seen the doctor and has started a medication regimen to strengthen her body and keep the baby healthy. Her doctor educated her about her health, and she is committed to carrying to term! Sunny told her nurse she has the supports she needs and thanked her for her help. Praise God for His intervention in Sunny's life! Pray this pregnancy is used to break the bonds of addiction once and for all and Sunny's family is led into a new chapter of peace.

Marilou was expecting to be discharged by today (Monday), but she developed a fever and her blood oxygen level dropped Saturday night, so she's still in the hospital for more tests and monitoring. She reports she is eating and sleeping okay, but is weak and still doesn't feel well. Please continue to pray for wisdom for her doctors (she has another new one assigned to her this week), and for God's protection and healing for her. She appreciates the prayers!

UPDATE on Steve: His doctor says he won't need surgery on his hip and we will continue with the current treatment. This is a great answer to prayer! PTL! Please continue prayers, as they said it could take up to two years for complete healing of the wounds. We are half way there on one, but just beginning treatment on the other.

Please pray for Gina R. and her family. Gina's Mom is currently in the hospital (but may come home today or tomorrow), and two of her Mother's brothers have passed away in the last few weeks. I believe they are Catholics.

UPDATE on Isla McAlpin (from CaringBridge, 12/11): Her Mom (Ashley) reports she has been having serious nose bleeds, not uncommon in chemo patients and not surprising given her very low blood counts. "I’ve thought to myself a million times over the last three weeks: how does a person survive this? Not Isla, I know she is a fighter and resilient and covered in favor—she will survive, and thrive. But me. How do I survive this? How do I watch the child I pleaded for in my womb four years ago endure this? How do I not break? .... Please pray with us specifically:

- no more bleeding in Jesus name. This is a bold prayer but we’re asking it.

- peace that passes understanding

- Isla’s counts to improve

- protection over her body as she fights these big medicines".

Pray for God's grace and strength and endurance for Ashley and the entire family also. Pray they continue to see His hand and know His presence and trust His goodness. Thank you.

CompassCare

"Morgan" came to CompassCare the same day she took a home pregnancy test and was shocked to see a positive result. Having one school-aged child, Morgan described herself as "not in baby mode." She went on to say her child has had health problems and she "really didn't even want kids in the first place." The news of another pregnancy is unwelcome and Morgan plans to get an abortion. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm, so her nurse suggested she take time to consider her decision. Morgan said, "I just want to get this over with." When informed about the risks abortion presents to a woman's mental health, she said, "I think having another child would be worse for my mental health than an abortion." She declined making a follow-up appointment but did agree to being contacted by phone. Please pray Morgan's heart is softened towards her children. Pray this preborn baby's life is spared. ------- "Sadie" also came to CompassCare immediately after getting a positive result on a home pregnancy test. She's in graduate school and has no support in the area. "I never imagined getting pregnant before I was married...and absolutely never imagined I would get an abortion," she confessed. Her boyfriend lives a few hours away and lacks confidence about becoming a dad, although he said he would support whatever she decides. "I feel alone," she said. Because her pregnancy was in its earliest stages at her first appointment, she returned for a second visit. She was crying and expressed feeling conflicted. After seeing the gestational sac on the ultrasound screen, she said it all feels real now. When discussing her spiritual life, she said she is a Christian but is afraid to pray about her decision. Currently, Sadie has an abortion appointment set for the week before Christmas. She is studying for final exams and feels overwhelmed. Pray God leads Sadie and her boyfriend out of fear into confidence and this baby's life is protected from harm.
