UPDATE: She reports her Aunt Carol (who is a believer) had apparently fallen and struck her head, causing internal bleeding and pressure, which yesterday's surgery relieved. They don't know what had caused her to fall, and she is now in an induced coma, but a brain scan after surgery has the doctors hopeful for a good recovery. The family appreciates the prayers on her behalf.

UPDATE on Isla McAlpin (CaringBridge): WE ARE HOME! Unexpectedly the team felt like we were in a place where home would be helpful for Isla. So we packed up and headed home, despite a tough week and morning. We are praying that as her numbers continue to climb she feels better and stronger. We will be back in clinic Monday for labs, and hope to start round 6 at some point next week. We are also moving! Our house will be ready next week, so after the next round we will be bringing Isla home to the new house. It feels crazy to manage a move while admitted to the hospital, but the timing seems to be adding up perfectly and we honestly can’t wait to be home on the farm.
Pray specifically:
-Isla's sores heal quickly with no additional complication
-that Isla can complete necessary functions without pain
-no fevers
-no bleeding
-improved counts
-grace in moving
-perfectly ordained timelines.
The next round is maintenance 1. At the beginning of the round she will undergo the necessary testing to confirm COMPLETE REMISSION. We ask for an extended covering of prayer during those tests. I will update as we are closer and know dates and times. Thank you sweet friends.

Kay was sent to Rochester for an abortion when she was turned away from a provider in Buffalo. She and the father of the baby expected to get an abortion at CompassCare, but were willing to stay for an appointment when services were explained. The ultrasound revealed a 23-week-old baby. Kay kept herself from looking at the screen, but the father of the baby took in the images. When he left the room, Kay said he is the one who wants her to get an abortion. She has caring parents who will help her raise a child, but they have also promised support if she decides to abort. She went on to say she never thought she would be in a position to consider abortion, but here she is. She feels conflicted. When Kay heard the gospel, she said she believes in God but was not ready to surrender her life to Christ. Her nurse suggested she try praying about her decision. Please pray Kay's conscience is fully awakened and she resists all pressure to abort. Pray the father of the baby makes a commitment to his child.
Jillian is in her late thirties and did not expect to be pregnant at this time. She has a couple of older kids and has a history of two previous abortions. She said she does not feel she could talk to her OB, who is against abortion, and expected to be able to get abortion pills at CompassCare. She decided to stay and get free services and information. A heartbeat was not detected during the ultrasound exam, which she said made it easier for her to go through with a third abortion. Jillian said she has no faith background and relies on herself. Pray Jillian considers the crossroads before her. Pray she chooses to continue her pregnancy and this child's life is spared from abortion.
When Sadie first came to CompassCare, she had already made an abortion appointment. She came to CompassCare to confirm and date her pregnancy. During the ultrasound exam, she was surprised to see two babies with heartbeats on the screen. Through tears, Sadie said she had always been pro-life but felt overwhelmed by the idea of becoming a mother right now. Her nurse suggested she delay her abortion appointment in light of her conflicted conscience. Sadie did not seem open to that idea and declined making a return appointment at CompassCare.
Unexpectedly, Sadie called the scheduling line and asked if she could come in. When she arrived, Sadie told her nurse she had a conversation with her parents over the weekend. They were supportive and she decided to cancel her abortion appointment at PlannedParenthood. The father of the babies accompanied her to the appointment and the two took in the sight of their eight-week-old twins on the screen together. Sadie gratefully took a referral to a pro-life OB/GYN ad said she will begin prenatal care right away. Praise God for snatching these preborn children out of harm's way and for Sadie's courage in choosing to parent. Continue to pray Sadie, the father of the babies, and their families come into relationship with Christ and truly thrive.
