Please pray for Roger Reddy; he is hospitalized with COVID pneumonia and on a ventilator. He’s resting and sedated. The doctors report is OK. Not getting worse but slowly better. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers.

"Rayelle" is pregnant with her seventh child. Having had her last child less than a year ago, she feels now is not the right time to have another baby. She cited the tensions of the last two years of the COVID crisis as a primary stressor for their family. She came in with her husband. The ultrasound exam revealed a seven-week-old baby. Rayelle and her husband heard the heartbeat. She declined the printed pictures offered to her, but was glad to get some nausea management supplies. Pray for Rayelle to have the physical, mental and emotional resilience she needs to carry her pregnancy to term. Pray this child is protected and loved in the same manner as his siblings. -------- "Sally" and her new husband have ten children between them. She's unexpectedly pregnant and worries adding a baby to this blended family so soon will strain her marriage. She wanted to know if the baby is healthy and discuss abortion options. Sally was relieved to hear the baby's heartbeat but still wanted to ask many questions about abortion. She is most concerned about long-term side effects. She was grateful to get help managing her nausea. When she heard the gospel, Sally said she recently rededicated her life to Christ and gladly allowed her nurse to pray for her and her situation. She also agreed to contact from a MotherCare mentor and scheduled a return appointment. Pray Sally is able to trust God with her life and puts all thoughts of abortion out of her mind. -------- "Sadie" has an abortion appointment early next week. She came to CompassCare to get more information on her pregnancy. To her surprise, she saw two babies on the ultrasound screen. She is pregnant with seven-week-old twins. Both heartbeats were detected. Sadie felt conflicted and began to cry. She said she has always been pro-life. Her nurse suggested she reschedule her abortion appointment for a later date and take more time to consider her decision. She did not seem open to this idea but said she would consider talking things over with her dad. Pray Sadie's fear is transformed into confidence and she decides to carry her twins to term. ------- UPDATE: "Annie" returned for another appointment. She told her nurse she told her dad about her plans to get an abortion. He is supportive and provided her with the insurance information she needs. She has an abortion appointment less than two weeks from now. Pray Annie's heart and mind are transformed and this child's life is spared from abortion.

UPDATE on Isla McAlpin (per CaringBridge 1/27): She remains hospitalized because of a low-grade fever, although she seemed to feel okay. Prayer requested specifically for rest, no fevers, count recovery, and that she would feel like herself for a few days before her next round of treatment next week.

UPDATES: Sharon Barrett continues to be in intense back pain, but has an appt with a spinal specialist for treatment on Feb. 9. She values and greatly appreciates all the prayers for her. ------- Tom C. (two spinal surgeries last year) is now able to stand and walk independently with a quad cane, and the pain/stiffness in his legs/feet seems to be getting better lately. He and Maureen are praising the Lord for his progress and continued perseverance. ------- Kylie M.'s fibula fracture seems to be healing nicely {she walks comfortably} and she has an appointment on Feb. 15 to check on the healing progress. ------- Marilou B. asked for prayer to seek the Lord's help regarding possibly moving into an assisted living environment. She wants to be very sure beforehand that it's the right move. Currently, her living conditions involve tolerating neighbors’ tobacco smoke and other chemical smells, which she says makes her feel anxious and physically ill. -------- Mike G. {in Batavia Rehab center} rarely complains about his physical limitations, although it’s been two years since spinal surgery caused the inability to walk/stand on his own. Despite many physical afflictions his soul/spirit is free and rejoices daily that his Redeemer liveth! He remains a strong witness for Jesus to all who come his way.

Please pray for Tom, the elderly gentleman from the E.R. Resource Center who used to pick up the monthly Food Drive donations. He is currently awaiting insurance approval for surgery to remove an abdominal tumor. Pray for the Lord's protection over him and His grace and peace upon him. I believe he is Catholic, so pray that he has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus. Thank you!

UPDATES on Isla McAlpin (from CaringBridge 1/24): Isla is still dealing with debilitating pain. It comes and goes, but she’s miserable when it’s here. Pray it ceases quickly and she is able to rest. ----- (1/25): After meds last night Isla is feeling a bit better. She tested positive for c-diff again, so they are changing her meds to accommodate helping her body clear the infection. On a positive note, her white blood cell count doubled again this morning (still critically low, but higher than yesterday!). We are praying as her counts recover she starts feeling better and is able to clear the colitis and c-diff quickly! Pray with us specifically:
-No further infection
-Counts recover quickly
-Pain to clear as she gets her new meds on board
-That we will get to go home in the next day or two and let her continue recovering there
