CompassCare

"Elena" came to CompassCare immediately after getting a positive result on her home pregnancy test. She told her nurse she is not in a position to have a baby as she immigrated to the U.S. to improve her economic situation and send support back to her family, but she recently lost her job. The father of the baby also lives overseas and they do not have an ongoing relationship. After seeing her six-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen, she said, "I'm going to have to think about this." Elena went on to say she was raised in a Christian home and doesn't really believe in abortion. Her nurse encouraged her to take time to make her decision and discuss things with her family. Please pray God would grant Elena peace and give her the courage to continue this pregnancy. ------- "Jessica" came to CompassCare saying she needs to get an abortion. "I don't really want to get an abortion," she lamented. She went on to explain the father of her children is disabled and he does not feel he can handle raising an additional child. Jessica confessed she has had several abortions and still deals with emotional trauma from them.

When she saw her thirteen-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen, she said, "It kills me to see the baby." When her nurse shared the gospel, Jessica said she has a relationship with God. "He has always guided me," she said. She then allowed her nurse to pray for her. Please pray Jessica would have the courage to choose to continue her pregnancy. Pray the father of the baby would have a change of heart and support her decision.

Please pray for Antoinette P., who recently injured her foot and has become ill with a productive cough. Also, she anticipates (with dread) having to move since the place where she is renting has been sold. Pray for the Lord's wisdom and healing for her, as well as for His provision and peace.

UPDATE on Isla McAlpin (from CaringBridge 2/22): Yesterday Isla and I went back into clinic to check labs and determine when she’d be ready for the next round (maintenance 1). Well she made counts yesterday - a whole 9 days before the average recovery! We chose to defer the start by 48 hours to allow some residual sores she has to heal.We will head back to the hospital Wednesday morning to be admitted and begin her chemo. This maintenance round is usually started after testing and remission is confirmed, but because the round requires sedation and a spinal tap on day two (Thursday) anyways, our oncologist wanted to save her a second sedation and do the bone marrow aspiration and testing while she is sedated for the chemo on Thursday. That means that Thursday we will know definitively that Isla has been HEALED, that the cancer is gone, and that the chemo has been successful. Please join us in prayer and fasting Thursday. We know that we serve a GOOD God, a way-maker, miracle worker, promise keeper. We know that Isla’s story is just the beginning of the work He is doing.

Please pray specifically:

-That Isla's sores continue to improve and heal

-That Thursday Isla is found to be CANCER FREE

-For peace that passes understanding.

UPDATE on Aunt Carol: She has had seizures and a bad infection, but the fever has come down, blood work is improved and there are other signs of improvement. She remains heavily sedated and has a breathing tube, but we're hopeful of continuing improvement. Thank you for continuing to pray for her.

UPDATE: My Aunt Carol Warzeski opened her eyes and was responsive to various commands on Friday, but yesterday (Sat) took a turn. They took her off sedation, but she did not open her eyes or respond. She now has a UTI and spiked a fever last night. They continue to drain blood from the brain, and she still has the breathing tube. Because of the fall there was broken blood vessels that built up a lot of blood and smooshed the Rt side of her brain. The goal is prayerfully, with the surgery and the other procedures, her brain would go back into place. She is losing a lot of blood, so they also need to replace that.

PRAISE REPORT on Marilou B.: Her pacemaker surgery on Friday went well and was successful, PTL! She was feeling and doing much better afterwards, and was discharged home Saturday afternoon. We are also praising the Lord because she's been assigned a Social Worker to help her get into an Assisted Living facility and address some of her other health concerns. Please continue to pray for the Lord's will and guidance and provision for her. Thank you, Saints!
