UPDATE on 4 year old Isla McAlpin: We’ve spent the last week home recovering. Isla is feeling better each day as her counts come up and the chemo side effects fade. We’ve gotten a glimpse of normal life after cancer—and we’re so thankful. Even though we aren’t done yet, this time has been such a gift—a reminder that there is JOY in the morning. I don’t know why we’ve been spared, but I know that we will forever proclaim the goodness of God. God, who is good, all the time. God, who brings new life. God, who brings the depth of mercy we often cannot understand. His peace that passes understanding. Thank you for carrying us, friends. We are so humbled and thankful.

We will begin our LAST round of chemo on 3/23. It will be a five day inpatient round. And then, we recover. Whole restoration, body, spirit and mind. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6

Please pray for safety for the school of ministry students at Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes (where Pastor Ray teaches a class) as they are on their way to Kentucky today (Tue.) to serve at the Ark for the next 11 days. May the Lord use them for His glory.

Kathy T.

She reports her Mother is finally able to return home to live with her husband after being many months in a nursing home, PTL! She is coming home Monday, but they learned today (Friday) that the aide service they thought they had set up for her cannot come until they receive some special paperwork from the doctor. Kathy requests prayer for favor regarding this paperwork so her Mom will be able to receive the needed care right away in her home. Thank you!

UPDATE: She reports her aunt Carol continues to make some progress but also have some setbacks. She is in and out of consciousness throughout the day, but is aware, although confused. She is able to breathe on her own without a ventilator, and can verbalize through a speaking valve in her trach tube for short periods. She still has very little physical movement, and still has one side of her skull cap removed, but is able to be moved out of the ICU. Please pray for her Lord to go before her to ensure proper placement for necessary care and rehab during her recovery.

Chuck Carapezza

PRAISE REPORT: He reports he had a benign tumor removed a year ago, but last Fall was diagnosed with another tumor. He sought prayer and was anointed with oil, and had no symptoms, so he refused surgery. Earlier this year he developed some bleeding and received a certified letter telling him he needed surgery, so he consented. He now has received written confirmation that when he had the bladder surgery recently, they could not find any tumor to be removed! Throughout this whole situation, he has been full of the joy of the LORD, witnessing and testifying to the reality and goodness of God to everyone around him. Only God Himself knows how many lives He has been able to touch through this situation, and to Him be all the glory!

CompassCare

"Lydia" came to CompassCare for a second appointment. She told her nurse she thinks abortion is the best choice for her, primarily because the father of the baby is emotionally abusive. She had been planning to move out, "find herself," and start over when she found out she is pregnant. When she confided in her mother, she said she would support any choice she makes. When discussing abortion, however, she became tearful and said, "It's selfish of me." She said she's been looking up fetal development information online and decided she would like to see another ultrasound. Afterward, she said she would like to have a little girl. Lydia agreed to take more time to make her decision and booked another appointment. She listened as her nurse shared the gospel and allowed her nurse to pray for her situation. Please pray Lydia would have the courage to continue her pregnancy and God lights a way to peace in her life. ------- "Taylor" came to CompassCare with her infant in tow. She said she must get an abortion and had a notably flat affect. After seeing the ultrasound, Taylor had no observable reaction. Viability could not be confirmed, so she scheduled a return appointment. She had no response to hearing the gospel. Pray for Taylor and both of her children. Pray God breaks into her life in a transformative way at this crucial crossroads.

UPDATE: Aunt Carol remains in ICU in guarded condition, and she is still unable to move much on her own, other than her thumbs and shrugging her shoulder. She opens her eyes and tries to communicate, but it's very difficult to understand with her having a tracheostomy. Please continue to pray that she pulls through this. Also prayers for the Lord's peace, grace, and strength for her and her family as they endure this difficult time are much appreciated. Thank you so much!

Pastor Tony

UPDATES/PRAISE from Pastor Tony: Mike Grabowski reports he is feeling much better lately and is grateful that PT is starting up again. He wanted everyone at Koinonia to know how much he appreciates the prayers for him, "for God's encouragement is in my heart." ------- Roger Reddy continues to improve and is doing daily exercises getting his strength/stamina back. They are praising the Lord for His recovery and amazing grace for Roger. They asked for prayers for wisdom and guidance from above to know the right time for Roger to return to normal activities. ------- Bonnie C. talked directly with her great grandson {Maclaine} recently and said he and his fellow U.S. service personnel are all okay. He may be in Poland/Europe for at least 6 months. ------- Marsha reports she has been sleeping better lately and is grateful to the Lord for that, and also for the blessing the Tuesday evening prayer group has been to her.
