"Mona" came to CompassCare immediately after getting a positive result on a home pregnancy test. She is raising two children and doesn't feel ready to have another baby. The father of the baby lives in another city but wants to relocate to support her in carrying to term and parenting the child. Mona wishes she were already better situated to "provide a good home" for a baby and is considering abortion due to bad timing. She told her nurse she had an abortion in the past and vowed that she would never have one again. When discussing the gospel, she said she is a Christian. Please pray Mona's fear is transformed into confidence and this baby's life is spared from abortion. Pray she will seek God's will...and she would have courage to walk by faith. ------- "Lissy" (already has 2 children, & baby's father has a young child with another woman) returned for another appointment. She has not yet decided to carry to term. She was emotional and tearful throughout the appointment, appearing extremely conflicted about her decision. Pray for Lissy, who surrendered her life to Christ at her first appointment. Pray she lays hold of forgiveness for her previous abortion and receives God's strength and hope for carrying this pregnancy to term.

From CompassCare: "Adele" drove a great distance to be seen at CompassCare. She is raising a child on her own and the father of the baby will soon be incarcerated. This pregnancy is a new stressor on top of years of COVID related stress and unemployment. Adele is considering abortion but stated she "feels bad" for thinking about it. When she saw her 26-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen and understood he could survive outside of the womb at this point, she seemed to become hesitant about abortion. She feels guilty when she thinks about women struggling with infertility and seems somewhat open to considering adoption. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, Adele decided to surrender her life to Christ. She also opted in for contact from a MotherCare mentor. Pray Adele comes to her return appointment and fully resolves to carry her pregnancy to term. Pray she is guided by God's wisdom as she considers parenting or adoption. -------- "Jennie" came to CompassCare feeling conflicted about her pregnancy. She deals with depression and anxiety and is disappointed she does not feel happy or excited about being pregnant. The man she was engaged to died in an accident several years ago and she cannot picture her future without him. "I can't imagine having a baby with anyone else," she said. After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, she said, "I don't feel connected to my baby. Maybe I'm just in denial." She told her nurse she is a Christian and believes God will forgive her if she gets an abortion. She was not interested in making a second appointment. Pray God will convict her of the truth and she will have the courage to continue this pregnancy.

From Lynn: Please pray for Marilou. She has another infection and has also tested positive for COVID. They are waiting for culture results before treating the infection. Please pray for wisdom for her doctor and for the Lord's protection, healing and peace for Marilou. Thank you, saints.

UPDATE on 4 year old Isla McAlpin: She is home and doing well, having completed all the severe and intense treatments needed to destroy the cancer. She is isolated at home (NO visitors, even grandparents) until July, as her immune system recovers from the treatments. Her numbers are slowly improving, praise God, and the family is trying to settle into their new home and finally resume a "normal" life. They are so thankful for God's goodness and faithfulness, and for all the prayers and support from His saints, over the past very difficult 5-6 months.

UPDATES: Pete C. and Bruce M. and others, who had been ill last week, are feeling much better and are returning to normal activities, PTL! ------ Linda Weckelman continues to find each day very challenging, but is "holding on to Jesus" with all her might. As chemo treatments continue, the side effects/difficulties intensify, and she and husband Gerry are so grateful for every prayer lifted up for them, knowing the Lord is with her and will see her through. ------- Mike Grabowski is back at the Batavia Rehab Center after his colostomy surgery. He is now able to resume intensive physical therapy using a hydraulic lift to get him out of bed, and hopes he will be strong enough and able to stand upright in a few months and be able to walk again. PTL! Please keep praying.

UPDATE on Marilou B: She saw a lung specialist and was diagnosed with a type of cystic disease caused by exposure to chemical air pollution, most commonly, cigarette smoke. (She does not smoke and is severely bothered by it.) She uses an inhaler, when necessary, and the doctor plans to monitor her condition regularly. She has found an apartment complex in Webster that she really likes and has put her name on the (short) waiting list, and is hopeful she will be able to move soon to what she expects to be a cleaner air environment. She has been to church a couple of times this month and is daily reading God's word, and recognizes that her attitude and outlook have improved, in spite of her many medical challenges. Marilou reminds herself to focus on the Lord and trust in Him, and we are praising Him for His work in her life! She is grateful for the prayers on her behalf.

"Valerie" has severe anxiety and says she worries about everything. An unplanned pregnancy seems like more than she can handle. Her boyfriend, who lives in another state, supports her getting an abortion. The ultrasound exam revealed a five-week-old baby. When asked what her thoughts were, she said, "Abortion is a sin. I hate it." When her nurse shared the good news of the gospel, she prayed to surrender her life to Christ. Pray for Valerie. She plans to return for another appointment and expressed interest in getting a MotherCare mentor. Pray her fear is transformed into confidence and she decides to carry to term. ------- "Tara" is an active drug user and had a hard time engaging in conversation with her nurse. She hoped to get abortion pills at CompassCare but was willing to stay for the services available. Tara is worried any child of hers would have a bad life and thinks abortion may be a merciful choice. She hasn't told anyone about the pregnancy and doesn't plan to. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, she suddenly seemed to have mental clarity and became active in the conversation. She said she had surrendered her life to Christ before and was happy to receive a Bible. She scheduled a return appointment for next week. Pray Tara is set free from her addiction and the health of this newly formed baby is protected. Pray she reconnects with Jesus and says "no" to destroying the life He created. ------- "Lissy" was tearful throughout her appointment, including when she saw her eight-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen. She had an abortion a couple of years ago and feels conflicted about getting another one. She said the father of the baby is a good man but, "we can't do this now." He has a young child with another woman and she is raising two of her own. When she heard the gospel, Lissy decided to surrender her life to Christ. She scheduled a return appointment as well. Pray Lissy has the strength to say "no" to abortion and she experiences true transformation in Christ. ------- UPDATE: "Anne" (business owner in mid-twenties, ready to be a mom, but baby's father wants abortion) did not come to her return appointment. She did not want to converse with her nurse when she called to follow-up. She said she will see her own OB before abruptly hanging up. Pray God continues to work in Anne's life and she chooses to carry to term.
