Please pray for my former boss's wife Waverly. She has been very ill for a number of years with a number of different issues. She is in dire need of a kidney transplant and they found one for her! The surgery is on August 2nd. Pray that everything goes as planned as far as the testing, scheduling and actual surgery. Pray also that both will realize that they need Jesus.

Steve & Carolyn M. recently had a fire in their home, but they are praising the Lord because they and their pets all escaped without harm, are staying with a relative while their home is being repaired, and are witnessing many blessings from God through this. ------- Steve Hollis, who continues to rejoice in his recovery from near death and long term hospitalization, requests prayer that his "deep wound" would heal without needing surgery. ------- Ann Cristo asks for prayer for a painful lump on her arm. (Scheduling an ultrasound before seeing MD in August.) ------- UPDATES: Please continue to pray for Linda Weckelman, who is having a very difficult time with pain, discomfort and discouragement. (Cancer treatments no longer seem to be helping.) She and husband Gerry continue trusting, hoping and waiting on the Lord. ------- Mike Grabowski said the rehabilitation at his current location will not begin again for months. However, he is praising God because he has learned that he qualifies for assistance and equipment from the VA, including a wheelchair ramp at his home, a motorized scooter, a home ceiling trolley set-up for upright mobility/support, and VA physician tele-conference visits, with his first one today (July 20). Thank You, Lord!!!

Update on my brother, Bruce: The tests he's had revealed a mass on his right kidney about the size of a melon and the doctor thinks it may have been growing for about five years. The next steps will be surgery and treatments. Our Lord Jesus is the Great Physician! May He heal my brother in every way through this. Asking for your continued prayers, and please pray for my cousin, Russ, and his wife, as they've been dealing with some health issues. Thank you very much!

CompassCare
PRAISE REPORTS: 35 women were served at the three CompassCare district locations this week. Please pray for these patients to have healthy babies, and for God's wisdom, compassion, and blessing for the nurses and staff who interact with them. --------- When "Andrea" came to CompassCare, she was still in shock after learning she was pregnant. She had just separated from her husband due to infidelity and thought getting an abortion might help her move on. When she saw her developing baby on the ultrasound screen, her demeanor changed and she smiled broadly. "I need to talk to my parents," she told her nurse. In her culture, a woman without a husband must obey her parents. Whether or not she aborted depended on their opinion. Andrea walked in to her follow-up appointment grinning from ear to ear, exclaiming "I'm definitely keeping this baby! This is a blessing!" Her parents pledged their support and had already been helping her with meals and chores on days when she felt unwell. Andrea's nurse reached out to her by phone after her predicted due date. Andrea reported her baby girl had been born healthy and strong in June. "I'm so thankful!" she said. "I take every opportunity to show her off!" Praise God for sparing this child from abortion! Pray she and her mother continue to grow and flourish in the grace of God and come to know Him personally. -------- PRAYER REQUEST: "Alyssa" came to CompassCare considering abortion because she had not planned to get pregnant before getting married. She expressed feelings of disappointment and shame. She also said she just started a new job and worries a pregnancy would interfere with her success. When discussing her spirituality, Alyssa said she is Catholic and her boyfriend is a Christian. He wants her to continue the pregnancy. Pray Alyssa turns to Christ at this crossroads and chooses to continue her pregnancy.

Gerry Weckelman
UPDATE: Linda's Chemo infusion (traditional chemo, not immunotherapy) yesterday went smoothly. The first infusion was the pre meds: steroids to help her tolerate the chemo, anti-nausea medication and some other things that I don't know what they were or what they were for. The next infusion was 10 percent of the chemo drug cisplatin; then we had to wait half an hour and if Linda didn't have an allergic reaction to the chemo they could proceed with the remaining 90 percent. Once the 90 percent was completed she was given more fluids and magnesium. I guess this chemo robs your body of magnesium. We were at the hospital from 8 am to 9 pm. It was a long day, but thank You, Jesus, all went well and all the people at Wilmont Cancer Center gave her excellent care and were very compassionate. Today will be a good day for her because of the steroids but the next few days will probably be kind of rough. We ask for prayer for the side effects to be minimal and for the chemo to kill the cancer cells.

UPDATE on Linda Weckelman: Linda's lab work on Monday revealed extremely high cancer markers - the highest she's ever had. Her physical symptoms, pain and discomfort, continue to worsen also. Today (Wed.) she's being admitted to the hospital cancer center for a new immunotherapy treatment. Please pray for Almighty God's presence, peace, protection, and perfect will for her and husband Gerry. They very much appreciate all the prayer support.
