My friend Marcia is having very serious ankle/foot surgery Monday 9/19. Please pray for God's comfort, no complications, and complete healing. She has been having seizures a couple times a week (epileptic) and needs an aide to be with her as she recovers from surgery. Pray her doctor will be able to get her an aide. PTL her new church will be helping with some meals and bringing her back home on Tuesday. No family is available to help. Thank you, saints, for lifting this up to our merciful Lord for her.

Update from Dawn P. concerning her sister, Lynn. The cancer is receding but it is still too large to do surgery. She will undergo chemo therapy to try to reduce this. Please pray that the cancer would shrink and that she can have a successful surgery in the near future.

Joy

Update from Joy: My brother, Bruce, called last night and shared what's been going on with his health. He had the kidney removed on August 26th and spent about a week in the hospital. Days later, while recovering at home, he developed some other issues. Bruce is now being told that the cancer, which started in his kidney, might be in his bones, and he also might have congestive heart failure. He is upset and frustrated. The Lord Jesus knows, and I'm trusting Him. I've been crying out to the Lord to be merciful to my brother and save him and heal him. Please join me and urgently pray for him. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.

CompassCare

Cindy started the chemical abortion process and quickly had regrets. She called CompassCare, hoping something could be done to save her baby. "I never really wanted an abortion anyway," she confessed. The ultrasound exam revealed a baby with a beating heart. Cindy was grateful to see signs of life and started pregnancy-sustaining progesterone therapy right away. When her nurse shared the gospel, Cindy surrendered her life to Christ. She left the office smiling and full of hope. Pray Cindy remains committed to getting the healthcare she needs and the baby continues to grow and develop. Pray she grows in her relationship with Christ during this important season in her life.

When Simone first came to CompassCare, she and the father of the baby felt abortion was the only option. Still in high school, Simone couldn't imagine getting an education and building a career with a child in tow. After seeing the baby's heartbeat during the ultrasound exam, the father of the baby said, "I know it's a life but I cannot take care of a child." Simone returned for several appointments, each time seeming more reluctant to get an abortion. However, she struggled to envision her future after having a baby. When asked who would support her, she said she was sure her dad would support her but she dreaded sharing the news of the pregnancy with him. "He'll say I ruined my life," she said. After a missed appointment, Simone's nurse reached out and offered to reschedule. Simone came in for another ultrasound. Since her last visit, she had told her dad about the baby. He immediately promised to support her in raising her child. Simone then told her older sister about the pregnancy. She expressed excitement about having a baby in the family and committed to helping raise her niece or nephew. Simone ended her relationship with the father of the baby who was pressuring her to get an abortion. "This is my child," she said. "I'm going to have this baby. I can see a path forward now," Simone told her nurse. She plans to start nursing school next year. Praise God for giving Simone the gift of courage and a hopeful vision of her future! Pray she and her family are strengthened for the journey ahead.

CompassCare

PRAY - Frida came to CompassCare shortly after finding out she is pregnant. She wanted to confirm the viability of her pregnancy to inform her decision-making process and asked for an ultrasound exam. Due to the early stage of her pregnancy, viability was not confirmed. She decided to wait on moving forward with an abortion until she had the results of her STD testing and planned to come back for another ultrasound. Weeks passed before Frida returned to CompassCare. In the interim weeks, she had experienced bleeding and thought she could be miscarrying. She saw her OB/GYN where it was confirmed via ultrasound that she has a healthy nine week pregnancy and is not miscarrying. She came back to CompassCare for her STD test results and more information on abortion. She declined the ultrasound exam saying, "I don't want to see it again. It stresses me out. I don't want to be a single mom statistic."Frida had done her research and found out getting an abortion locally would cost hundreds of dollars more than ordering pills through an online provider. She plans to pursue a mail-order abortion in spite of being within days of the ten week gestational age limit recommended for chemical abortion. Her nurse reviewed the risks of self-managed chemical abortion at her gestational stage. Frida said she understood, took information on local resources available to her should she choose to carry to term. Pray Frida values her health and the life of her baby enough to say "no" to an abortion. Pray God intervenes miraculously to spare them both.

PRAISE - Moriah went to her local abortionist and began the chemical abortion process. She took the first pills in office and was given more to take at home to complete the abortion. As she accepted the pills, Moriah heard a voice inside her say, "Don't do it." When she left the abortion office, she was approached by a sidewalk advocate who gave her information on rescuing a pregnancy from an abortion in process. Moriah boarded the bus and a flood of regret came over her. "This is not what my heart wanted me to do," she thought. She hoped something could be done and called the number on the card she was given. Within two hours, she was at CompassCare getting an ultrasound exam, which revealed an eight-week-old baby. "I'm happy I still have his little heartbeat! This is nothing but God!" She said she wants to continue the pregnancy, remarking, "This baby didn't have anything to do with me and the father's problems." She explained she is a Christian and realized she was not listening to God's voice when she pursued the abortion. She prayed with her nurse to recommit her life to Christ.

Moriah began her pregnancy-sustaining progesterone therapy that day and has returned for several follow-up appointments. The baby is growing normally and has a strong heartbeat. Moriah is in the process of connecting with a MotherCare mentor.

Praise God for His sovereign intervention in Moriah's life. Pray she and her preborn baby continue to flourish under His grace!
