Update on my brother, Bruce: The tests he's had revealed a mass on his right kidney about the size of a melon and the doctor thinks it may have been growing for about five years. The next steps will be surgery and treatments. Our Lord Jesus is the Great Physician! May He heal my brother in every way through this. Asking for your continued prayers, and please pray for my cousin, Russ, and his wife, as they've been dealing with some health issues. Thank you very much!

CompassCare

PRAISE REPORTS: 35 women were served at the three CompassCare district locations this week. Please pray for these patients to have healthy babies, and for God's wisdom, compassion, and blessing for the nurses and staff who interact with them. --------- When "Andrea" came to CompassCare, she was still in shock after learning she was pregnant. She had just separated from her husband due to infidelity and thought getting an abortion might help her move on. When she saw her developing baby on the ultrasound screen, her demeanor changed and she smiled broadly. "I need to talk to my parents," she told her nurse. In her culture, a woman without a husband must obey her parents. Whether or not she aborted depended on their opinion. Andrea walked in to her follow-up appointment grinning from ear to ear, exclaiming "I'm definitely keeping this baby! This is a blessing!" Her parents pledged their support and had already been helping her with meals and chores on days when she felt unwell. Andrea's nurse reached out to her by phone after her predicted due date. Andrea reported her baby girl had been born healthy and strong in June. "I'm so thankful!" she said. "I take every opportunity to show her off!" Praise God for sparing this child from abortion! Pray she and her mother continue to grow and flourish in the grace of God and come to know Him personally. -------- PRAYER REQUEST: "Alyssa" came to CompassCare considering abortion because she had not planned to get pregnant before getting married. She expressed feelings of disappointment and shame. She also said she just started a new job and worries a pregnancy would interfere with her success. When discussing her spirituality, Alyssa said she is Catholic and her boyfriend is a Christian. He wants her to continue the pregnancy. Pray Alyssa turns to Christ at this crossroads and chooses to continue her pregnancy.

Gerry Weckelman

UPDATE: Linda's Chemo infusion (traditional chemo, not immunotherapy) yesterday went smoothly. The first infusion was the pre meds: steroids to help her tolerate the chemo, anti-nausea medication and some other things that I don't know what they were or what they were for. The next infusion was 10 percent of the chemo drug cisplatin; then we had to wait half an hour and if Linda didn't have an allergic reaction to the chemo they could proceed with the remaining 90 percent. Once the 90 percent was completed she was given more fluids and magnesium. I guess this chemo robs your body of magnesium. We were at the hospital from 8 am to 9 pm. It was a long day, but thank You, Jesus, all went well and all the people at Wilmont Cancer Center gave her excellent care and were very compassionate. Today will be a good day for her because of the steroids but the next few days will probably be kind of rough. We ask for prayer for the side effects to be minimal and for the chemo to kill the cancer cells.

UPDATE on Linda Weckelman: Linda's lab work on Monday revealed extremely high cancer markers - the highest she's ever had. Her physical symptoms, pain and discomfort, continue to worsen also. Today (Wed.) she's being admitted to the hospital cancer center for a new immunotherapy treatment. Please pray for Almighty God's presence, peace, protection, and perfect will for her and husband Gerry. They very much appreciate all the prayer support.

Update on my brother, Bruce: Thank you so much for all your prayers for my brother. He just found out on the 8th that the cancer in his lungs started in his right kidney, and then traveled. He'll be talking with a kidney specialist on the 12th to find out which treatment would be best. He's doing well, considering the words "Stage 4" were used. I ask for your continued prayers that he would turn to our Lord Jesus for help and hope, for his salvation, comfort for his family, and Jesus' healing touch. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

CompassCare

PRAISE REPORT: A total of 25 patients were seen at the three CompassCare locations this week. Please pray these women choose life for their babies and all come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. -------- When "Carly" came to CompassCare, her primary feeling about her pregnancy was fear. She said she would like to raise a child but doesn't feel ready. She also worried her mom wouldn't be supportive. Carly came for a second appointment and ultrasound with the father of the baby. When they saw their child on the ultrasound screen, they were elated. They committed to continuing the pregnancy and raising their child. Carly was grateful for the services she received and plans to pursue mentoring through the MotherCare program. Praise God for sparing the life of this child! Pray God continues to use His people to point Carly and the father of the baby to Christ as they begin their lives as parents. -------- PRAYER NEEDS: "Marley" came to CompassCare for free testing and was shocked to learn she is pregnant. She told her nurse she aborted her last pregnancy because the father of the baby was not supportive and she is doubtful his attitude will be different this time. She said she does have other supportive people in her life. After the ultrasound exam Marley said she would consider continuing her pregnancy but has not ruled out getting another abortion. When her nurse shared the gospel, Marley said she has a faith background and would give thought to surrendering her life to Christ. She plans to return for a second appointment. Pray God gives her the confidence she needs to continue her pregnancy and she gives her life to Christ. -------- Please continue to pray for the Lord's anointing on the nurses as they minister to the women, and God's protection over all the pro-life pregnancy services' facilities and personnel in the country.
