Mom is at St Ann’s rehabilitation and unfortunately she fell early this morning trying to get out of bed although she’s told not to try it without assistance m. Thankfully our Lord protected her because she did not break anything. She is in extreme pain and very distraught which is understandable but this also is stressful on the family since it isn’t possible for us to sit with her every day and night. To complicate matters there’s several Covid cases on the floor which necessitates testing all the patients and visitors and in some cases requires visitors to gown up mask, shield and gloves. Please pray the Lord give mom clarity of mind to remember the things she is not supposed to do, give her peace about the fact that visitors cannot be there all the time and heal her body so she can return home.️

REPORTS: Our staff at the three clinics ministered to a total of 34 clients this week. ------- "Betty" came to CompassCare looking to confirm the viability and gestational age of her pregnancy. She told her nurse she plans to get an abortion because she cannot face a future raising three children alone. The two fathers of her other two children abandoned her. She worries this third man will respond in kind to the responsibility of fatherhood and she will be left to raise three children from three different men without support from any of them. After the ultrasound exam and options discussion, Betty's nurse shared the gospel with her. Betty said she no longer believes in God. Although she says she "got saved and baptized" in high school, she has since rejected her faith. She told her nurse she and her children have experienced racism at church and she is not interested in pursuing Christianity for that reason. Pray Betty encounters Christ and understands His immeasurable love for her and her children. Pray Betty returns for her next appointment and chooses to carry to term. -------- "Opal" suspected she could be pregnant for several months. She told her nurse she’d been in denial about the possibility of pregnancy but lately had noticed her abdomen was swelling and she thought she “felt something” inside. “If I’m pregnant, I need to get an abortion,” she stated. About two weeks ago, she found out the father of the baby is married to another woman. She’d been in relationship for some time with him without this knowledge. The prospect of raising a child alone in her circumstances filled Opal with fear. The ultrasound revealed an active 25-week-old baby with a strong heartbeat. Shocked, Opal began to cry. “I didn’t know it would look like that or have a beating heart,” she said. When she asked to learn more about abortion, her nurse provided her with medical information on surgical abortion. Opal sobbed as she read the details of how the procedure is done. Opal’s nurse assured her she is in a safe place to process her thoughts and feelings and began to help her explore alternatives to abortion. Opal felt her mother would be supportive and even happy about the prospect of a grandchild. When asked about other community supports such as a church, Opal said she grew up in church but “turned away from God” some time ago. Lately, however, she’d been crying out to God in prayer. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, Opal reached for her nurse’s hands. Clasping them in her own, she said, “Yes! I want that!” She cried joyful tears of relief as she prayed to surrender her life to Christ. She said she doesn’t know yet if she will continue her pregnancy, but she agreed to return for another appointment next week. Pray Opal’s newfound joy in Christ motivates her to choose to carry to term and trust God with her future.

PRAISE REPORT on Brian: Brian's condition has improved and no longer requires ICU. He's dealing with phlegm and still receiving nutrients intravenously. An MRI is expected. Breathing is good. Pray for finding the cause so that he may receive the treatment he needs and that he gets this phlegm taken care of. Praise God for His mercy!

Please pray for my friend Larry, who was going to go on the men's retreat with me. His diabetes is acting up, so he had to cancel. He sees his doctor next week, and can hopefully get things back under control.

The Lord open the door and mom was transferred to Saint Ann’s rehab yesterday. She’s extremely strong-willed and continues to give us trouble by not listening to what she’s supposed to be doing and not doing. She is also extremely demanding regarding the amount of time she wants us in the room with her which is putting a lot of stress on my brother and me. Pray the Lord would soften her heart and not be so demanding. Also that she would understand she’s there to rehab so she can safely go back to her home and that there are rules in place for her safety. Thank you.
