Thank the Lord, and thank you for praying! ------- UPDATE from Gerry Weckelman: He reports Linda is getting a little stronger and feeling a bit better each day, recovering from her latest chemo treatment, PTL! But even better news is that this week's blood work shows her cancer markers continue to go down! The chemo seems to be working! Praise God, and please keep praying for her healing!

CompassCare

REPORT: A total of 29 clients were served at the 3 regional facilities this week. One was "Mona", who is pregnant with her third child. The father of the baby has two children from another relationship and she hadn't been planning to get pregnant. Although she and the father of the baby care for each other and hoped to have a child together in the future, Mona is planning to get an abortion. Apart from financial concerns, Mona cited her mental health as a primary tension in her life and thinks now is the wrong time to start raising another child. When her nurse shared the gospel, Mona said she had received Christ as savior as a child but said she isn't sure where she stands with God now. She allowed her nurse to pray with her. Pray Mona would draw near to God and He would draw near to her. Pray she decides to carry to term. ------ PRAISE REPORT: "Maleeka" was surprised to learn she was pregnant several weeks ago. She is raising a toddler and just landed a new job. She thought another child would be too great a responsibility for her right now. Abortion seemed like the best way forward in her eyes. At her first appointment Maleeka's pregnancy was too early to confirm via ultrasound. She and her nurse discussed all of her options and the tensions she was feeling at this crucial crossroads. When her nurse shared the gospel, Maleeka chose to surrender her life to Christ and prayed with her nurse in the exam room. When she returned the next week, Maleeka said she was happy she took the time to slow down and carefully consider her decision. She and the father of the baby talked after her first appointment. He was clear he did not want his child to be aborted and planned to support her through the pregnancy and beyond. Maleeka told her nurse she plans to carry to term and raise her child and is grateful for the services she received. Praise God for saving the life of this preborn baby! Pray Maleeka grows in her faith in Christ and she and the father of the baby are equipped and empowered to raise their child to the glory of God.

PRAISE REPORT: We would like to thank everyone for praying for Linda and I. The chemo infusion yesterday went smoothly with no allergic reactions. The blood work showed that both of the cancer markers have gone down for the first time in many months! Thank You, Jesus, so much for watching over us and helping us in our time of need. We pray that the treatments will continue to work.

UPDATE from Pastor Ray: He reports he has been attending and/or teaching at various meetings and services with numerous pastors and ministry leaders and saints in Lima, Peru, a very large (over 10 million people) and busy city. Services have been full and Spirit-filled, and last Friday's evening prayer meeting was attended by over 75 people. They have another prayer meeting tonight (Wednesday), and the pastors plan to spend a couple of days later this week at a church about 3 hours away which was started by some of the Lima pastors. Pastor Ray will be teaching one of the Sunday morning services in Lima, and Monday will be meeting with all the church leaders and servants all day before heading to the airport that night for a 2am flight Tuesday morning back home.
