CompassCare
36 women are presently being served in the three CompassCare locations. Pray for them to safely have their babies and submit to Christ, and for God's blessings and protection for the nurses sharing the Gospel with them. -------- "Abby" thought she was done raising children. Then she found out she is pregnant again. With her youngest about to leave home, she feels unprepared and resistant to the idea of having another baby. Desiring to pursue additional education unhindered, she was considering getting an abortion. At her second appointment, Abby expressed a desire to carry to term and said she knows firsthand how difficult abortions are. When Abby returned for her third appointment, she said she needs to get an abortion because she decided she does not want to remain connected to the father of the baby. She wants to wait for her STI test results before moving forward with the abortion and scheduled a return appointment for next week. Pray God gives Abby the strength to carry her pregnancy to term no matter what. Pray for hope and peace in spite of the challenges she is facing. -------- "Allison" came to CompassCare last month to learn how far along she was in her pregnancy. Although she and her boyfriend weren’t averse to the idea of parenting a child together, they both agreed the timing was wrong and decided to pursue an abortion. Allison was interviewing for a job she hoped would launch her career and worried a baby would get in the way. Her boyfriend joined her for the next appointment and Allison shared the news that she’d landed the job. When they saw their baby on the ultrasound screen, they both expressed excitement, but Allison’s was measured. Not yet convinced that she could give up her initial plans, Allison said, “I’m just not sure this is the best move.” Allison mentioned her Catholic faith was a source of hope in her life, but she seemed to be struggling to prioritize her beliefs over her career goals. Weeks passed before Allison returned for another appointment. Her boyfriend had joined her again and Allison happily announced, “We’re going for it! We’re keeping the baby and getting married!” The two gleefully took in the sight of their developing baby on the ultrasound screen, marveling at his movements. Allison plans to begin prenatal care immediately. Praise God for his mercy towards Allison and her baby. Pray he works mightily to establish this child and his parents in the love and grace of Christ.
