Please pray for me. I've been having medical problems and seeing multiple doctors and having various tests, but they don't know what is going on. One doctor mentioned a possible malignant tumor on my parathyroid and wants a CT scan. I'm still struggling with my finances too. I went with a relative to Calvary Rochester last Sunday and was anointed with oil, and cried like a baby. God's love was so strong.

Lynn

UPDATE from Lynn on Marilou: She reports she was moved out of ICU Tuesday or Wednesday last week, but the roommate she was moved in with came down with Covid shortly thereafter, and she was moved again, this time into a private room. She was supposed to transfer to St. John's tomorrow for rehab, but that has been placed on hold because of her exposure to Covid. We're praising the Lord though because the antibiotics are shrinking the abscess and she hasn't needed surgery to drain it. She completed the IV antibiotics yesterday and will now be taking two oral ones, but given her history of adverse reactions, they want to monitor her in the hospital for a few days to be sure she can safely take them. She says she is walking around and is encouraged by her increasing strength and mobility again. Please keep praying for her recovery and healing. She knows she's being prayed for and greatly appreciates it.

CompassCare

REPORTS: The three regional offices ministered to 28 clients this week. ------- "Joanie" came to CompassCare looking to find out more about her pregnancy and health before proceeding with getting an abortion. She was anxious, seeming rigid and guarded. "I see no reason to continue this pregnancy," she stated flatly. She is unsure who the father of the baby is and says, "The world is such an awful place to raise a child. And I'm already struggling financially." She believed abortion to be the only way forward. As the appointment progressed, Joanie relaxed and became more conversant. She shared her past abortion experience, saying it had been traumatizing. She allowed her nurse to pray with her. Afterward, she said, "God forgave me for my first abortion. He'll forgive me for this one." She then left to go to a prenatal appointment with her doctor. She promised to call with an update and planned to schedule a return appointment. Pray Joanie's eyes are opened to the value of each human life - the image of God that must be protected - and she chooses to carry to term. Pray Joanie returns to CompassCare for the support she needs. ------- Praise: When "Anne" suspected she could be pregnant, she looked for help online. She was so relieved to find she could meet with an R.N. virtually through CompassCare’s TeleCare platform. Her TeleCare nurse talked with her about her concerns and answered some of her health questions before offering her an in-person appointment to get a pregnancy test, ultrasound, and STD testing. Anne readily agreed. When she walked into the CompassCare office, Anne reiterated she feels abortion is her only option. Her nurse provided her with all of the services and information she needed to make a fully informed decision. At the end of the appointment, Anne’s nurse shared the gospel and offered to pray with her. Anne returned for a follow-up appointment two weeks later. She announced she plans to carry to term and make a very noble parental decision - an adoption plan, hoping to bless someone who is unable to have biological children. She plans to return for another appointment and meet with CompassCare’s resource coordinator to create a plan for the coming months. Before ending the appointment, she commented, “I’m seriously considering returning to church!” Praise God for changing Anne’s heart and giving her the strength to say “no” to abortion. Pray for grace for the journey she and her child have ahead of them.

UPDATE on Brian: Was able to visit with Brian in ICU this morning and he knows and greatly appreciates all the prayers offered for him and his family. His wife Linda said Brian has been diagnosed with a form of ALS, a disease that affects the nervous system/muscle function. There is more testing happening, and he may require a trach/feeding tube. Let's continue to pray for God's mighty hand of healing, grace and peace upon Brian and Linda.

My mom Josephine is still at St Ann’s rehab but it’s been extremely difficult in a variety of ways. She is still not able to get up out of bed without aid and walk more than 25 steps with her walker. She’s in extreme pain although the pain is supposed to be managed. Night time is the most difficult. We get calls and she’s either hysterically crying wanting to go home or at times doesn’t know where she is. Please continue to pray for her healing so that she can get to her own home and for the Lord to give her clarity of mind and peace and for her to have the strength and willingness to do the exercises needed to regain her strength. Also please pray for me and my brother and sister for peace, patience and for wisdom for future care and for favor from the insurance company.

Please pray for the Lord's comfort and grace for the Hoag family as Jim's grandmother went to Heaven last weekend and the family gathers for Catholic service and burial tomorrow. (Her husband is a staunch Catholic.) ------- Please pray for Roseann B., who has been having stomach/digestive issues for some time, and for Andrea L., who is scheduled for back surgery on Nov. 17. ------- Please pray for Mary (at Grande Vie), who has been a faithful witness for Jesus, and is now dealing with physical pain, fatigue, and flu-like symptoms. ------- UPDATE on Mike Grabowski: He has been residing at Rehab center(s) for the last 4 yrs. Mike said, "I know The LORD has a plan for me and His plan is the very best for me. It's a joy to know/serve Him, and to have His grace be applied to my life and to my family's." He asks prayer for God's will and that he would continually abide in the Lord.
