Please pray for my husband Rick, who hurt his back last Thursday and has been unable to function due to severe pain. He has an appointment with his specialist tomorrow (Fri). Please pray that they would be swift to order the proper tests and provide the proper pain meds. He has seen a surgeon in the past but has been trying to manage a chronic back issue without surgery. He is willing to have surgery now if that is what is needed. Please pray for the Lord's wisdom. Thank you!

UPDATE from India: The 4-day Medical Clinic in Pune went very well, PTL! There has been much unrest in India, but the Lord has protected His people and work. On Saturday, back in Pune, they plan to hold a Women's camp. Please pray for the Lord's continued protection and guidance, anointing and blessing upon and through each of His saints on the team, and for salvation for any who are not His.

CompassCare

32 women and their babies were served at CompassCare this week between the 3 offices.

Prayer - Grace came for an appointment at CompassCare's Buffalo medical office recently. She said she needs to get an abortion because she is too young to raise a child and worries continuing her education while parenting would be difficult. Although she professes Christian faith, Grace told her nurse she feels abortion is justifiable at the beginning of pregnancy because she feels "it's not a real baby yet."

The viability of her pregnancy could not be determined through the ultrasound exam due to how early Grace's pregnancy was. Grace made a return appointment for a repeat ultrasound. However, when a blizzard of historic proportions hit Buffalo, Grace called to cancel her appointment. "I'm snowed in and there's a driving ban," she told the scheduler. By His grace, through His people, God has made a way for CompassCare to serve women anywhere they are—even when snowbound in their homes—through TeleCare. When offered this option, Grace agreed to meet with a nurse virtually.

Empowered by the information she received during her TeleCare appointment, Grace decided to safeguard her health by canceling the abortion appointment she had scheduled for the next day. She saw the value in getting another ultrasound exam to determine viability before making any further decisions regarding her pregnancy. "I'll come back to CompassCare...when the driving ban is lifted," she said.

The ultrasound exam revealed a tiny child with a beating heart. "It makes a huge difference seeing the baby," Grace remarked. "I should tell my mother." She has not yet decided to carry her pregnancy to term but says the father of the baby will support whatever she chooses.

Please pray God continues to work in Grace's heart with life-saving power. Pray her Christian faith is strengthened and she has the power to honor God's gift of life through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Praise - Jane had been told it would be difficult if not impossible for her to conceive a child. To her great surprise, a home pregnancy test showed a positive result several weeks ago. Although abortion wasn't her only thought, it was a serious consideration. She works a demanding job and was emotionally shocked when she realized her life could change dramatically if she chose to parent her child. The father of the baby wanted her to get an abortion.

Being a medical professional, Jane saw the value in the services available at CompassCare, so she drove to one of CompassCare's medical offices from a neighboring county. Her ultrasound exam revealed a healthy baby. When she heard the strong heartbeat, Jane remarked, "I think God sent me here." Her nurse took the opportunity to share the gospel with her. Although she wasn't ready to surrender her life to Christ, she promised to give the message some thought.

A week later, Jane's nurse reached out to her. "I'm going to have the baby," Jane announced. Her mom supports her decision and she already connected with an OB/GYN who will be supervising her pregnancy.

Praise God for giving Jane the courage and conviction to continue her pregnancy! Pray she and her child thrive and grow under His grace in the days to come.
