CompassCare

23 women and their babies were served at CompassCare this week. ---------- Prayer: "Melinda" came to CompassCare for an initial appointment recently. Although the father of the baby wanted her to carry to term and raise the child, Melinda felt pressured to get an abortion. She feels financially burdened and has a toddler at home. The viability of her pregnancy was confirmed via ultrasound. Melinda remarked she "had no idea there was so much development." After reviewing the abortion information brochure she felt less confident about getting an abortion. She wanted time to talk with her mom. Melinda has had two appointments at CompassCare since then. At her most recent appointment, she became emotional and shed tears at the sight of her eight-week-old baby moving on the ultrasound screen. She feels guilty considering abortion, especially given the that she has support from her mom as well as her boyfriend and his mom. But financial pressure along with relationship challenges have her locked in a state of uncertainty. She is scheduled for a follow-up appointment with CompassCare and an initial appointment with her OB/GYN. Pray Melinda fully resolves to carry her pregnancy to term and banishes all thoughts of abortion from her mind.---------- Praise: "Lily" is a young mother raising an infant. She and her boyfriend work together as parents, but news of a second pregnancy was overwhelming to Lily. She wanted to get an abortion. Her boyfriend said he wished she keep the baby and was prepared to welcome a second child into their home. However, he went ahead and researched abortion options for her. They chose to come to CompassCare to find out how far along Lily is. Lily said she hoped she was less than ten weeks along, so she could "take the pill" to abort her baby, thinking this would be an easier method. Her boyfriend said openly he would rather she didn't get the abortion, but wanted to support her decision because, "It's her body, her choice." The ultrasound exam revealed a twenty-eight-week-old baby. Lily immediately dissolved into tears. Lily and her boyfriend realized Lily's only choices were to have a surgical abortion or to give birth to this baby in a few short months. Her boyfriend again expressed his support and they made a return appointment. At her second appointment, Lily met with one of CompassCare's resource coordinators. She learned about the wide range of support available to her and she began to see a path forward for herself and her children. When she met with her nurse again, she heard the gospel a second time. Understanding the salvation and strength available in Christ, Lily decided to surrender her life to Jesus in prayer with her nurse. Praise God for sending Lily to CompassCare. She and her child have been spared from the agony of abortion and her soul has been made new through Christ! Continue to pray for Lily and the father of the baby as they make plans for the future.

Please pray for our next door neighbor, Jo. She is 84, and has such a bad backache that she is confined to bed. We believe she knows the Lord, although still hangs on to her Catholic background.

Hakes

Update on Nancy...lumpectomy and removal of one lymph node surgery went very well, however, the biopsy showed that the cancer was also in her lymph node. This does not change her prognosis - it is still very good. That said, the chemo treatment plan has changed accordingly and starts on Friday 3/6 and will finish towards the end of June. We will continue to praise Jesus through this storm and ask that you do as well. Please pray that Nancy will tolerate the treatments well with minimal side effects. Thank you so much.

CompassCare

31 women and their babies were served at CompassCare last week! ---------- Prayer: "Emerson" is hesitating. She can't decide if she wants to complete a chemical abortion. Emmerson was first seen at CompassCare shortly after finding out she is pregnant. The father of the baby had threatened to abandon her and her toddler if she did not get an abortion. She had been hoping to marry him and enjoy having a family together but he had different ideas.

After that appointment, CompassCare's schedulers fielded a call from Emerson: she had taken the first abortion pill and regretted her actions. She wondered if there was any way to save her baby. CompassCare's nurses, rushing to help Emmerson with an abortion pill reversal, saw her immediately and began pregnancy-sustaining progesterone therapy. At first, Emerson was relieved. However, when she came for her follow-up appointment and told her nurse she is thinking of restarting the chemical abortion process and ending her baby's life.

Pray for Emerson to fully resolve to protect herself and her baby from the harm of chemical abortion. Pray the life of this child is spared and Emerson seeks the help she needs. ---------- Praise: CompassCare prayer warriors prayed for "Gina" two weeks ago. She had originally told her nurse "I don't want another child." She said she plans to advance her career and work for a better life for herself and her young child. Although she'd reacted with joy and emotion when she saw her thirteen-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen, even commenting that he seemed to be waving at her, Gina still clung to her original hopes and dreams. She could not see room for another baby in her plan. When she didn't show up for her follow-up appointment, she told the nurse she was moving forward with an abortion. She agreed to follow-up phone calls. Today, a member of CompassCare's patient services team reached out to Gina to see how she is doing. Gina happily reported she and the father of the baby have decided to parent their child. Praise God! A child has been saved from abortion! Pray Gina and the father turn to Christ as they prepare to welcome this baby.

Caring Choices Pregnancy Help Center

Praise Report: A young couple came in several weeks ago and were considering abortion. They felt comfortable in coming back to the center and were open to discussion with their Client Advocates and, because of much prayer and the compassion that was shown, they have chosen life! Please pray that they will come to faith in Christ. ------- Prayer Requests: We have had a couple of male clients who are refugees and speak very little English, and come for material aid. Please pray for opportunity to show the love of Christ and build relationships with them and also to be able to eventually meet their wives. -------- "E" has a preemie newborn son in the NICU and asks prayer that he would continue to grow and thrive. He was born over 3 months early, weighing just 1lb 7oz! Also, pray that she would find a place to rent that is mold free and in a safe area, as she needs to move by March 17. -------- "T" is a single mom who struggles with a negative self-image, past trauma, and feeling judged by others. She desires to strengthen her faith but is still learning to trust in the Lord for all her needs. ------- "J" is in desperate need of housing and support in her life. Pray that she will come to faith and receive the unconditional love that Jesus has for her. ------- "R", a pregnant believer, has a child with special needs and is working part-time-so. Pray for her to look to the Lord for strength and patience and that she would find her refuge in the Lord when she spends time with Him.
