UPDATE on my sister: Thankfully they got a surgery date a lot sooner than what they were originally talking about. Surgery will be this Friday April 5th. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and a complication-free recovery for her. The progress of her recovery will determine when I will be coming back home. I am estimating possibly mid to late May. Thank you so much, saints, for your continued care, concern and prayers for her!

Marina returned for her follow-up appointment. She spoke with her grandmother and was told she would be supported in whatever decision she made. Marina reiterated that she doesn't feel ready to have another child, despite the fact that the father wants her to continue the pregnancy. Marina told her nurse that she goes to church and believes that God will forgive her for getting an abortion. Please pray that Marina will change her mind and choose to protect her baby's life. Pray that she will not follow through on her plans to get an abortion.

"Lucia" came to CompassCare saying she needs to get an abortion because "I am done having having children." She has three kids at home and isn't planning on telling her husband about this pregnancy, as he would want her to continue. In fact, she hasn't told anyone. Feeling alone and afraid, Lucia came to CompassCare hoping she could get an abortion. During her ultrasound, a healthy seven week old baby with a strong heartbeat showed on the screen. Lucia confided to her nurse that it was difficult to view her baby because "it's a life." As she learned about the risks and side-effects of abortion, she began to cry. As her nurse shared the gospel with her, Lucia said that she has been meeting for Bible study with a woman who just happened to knock on her door a few days ago. Please pray for Lucia. It is clear that God is calling to her. Pray that she will hear His voice, put her faith in Him, and decide to protect her preborn baby. ----------- UPDATE: "Henny" (college student) has come back to CompassCare two more times since her initial appointment. Both she and her boyfriend spoke to their parents and they are all in agreement that getting an abortion is the best plan. Her pregnancy was confirmed and Henny saw her baby and heard the heartbeat. Please pray for Henny, that the image of her baby would stir her heart and she would decide to continue the pregnancy.

"J" visited our Webster center today with her boyfriend and daughter for material assistance. She attends a local church and indicated that her relationship with God was good. Pray that they will be open to coming back for parenting classes and that we will be able to have a deeper conversation about spiritual matters with them. --------- "N" has expressed a desire to visit us but is having issues with transportation. Please pray that she will be able to get transportation to either of our centers and that we will be able to encourage her.

UPDATE on Pastor Ray: He remains in Pune and is busy teaching at the Bible college. This Sunday is the 14th graduation from our school! It remains hot there, 105 degrees, so planned trips to see pastors in other areas had to be cancelled. Please continue to pray for Ray's health and strength.

PRAISE REPORT: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday expanded the Trump administration's ban on U.S. aid to groups that promote or provide abortions to include organizations that comply with the rules but give money to others that don't. Pompeo also said the U.S. would cut some assistance to the Organization of America States because at least two of its agencies are allegedly lobbying for abortion availability in the Western Hemisphere. Pompeo said the administration was committed to protecting "the sanctity of life" in the United States and abroad and would enforce the policy "to the broadest extent possible" by not allowing foreign non-governmental organizations to skirt the ban.

"Ebony" only speaks Spanish and her entire appointment was through an interpreter. She is not in relationship with the father of the baby but is in another relationship and plans on marrying that other man. Her ultrasound showed she is pregnant with a 15 week old baby. Ebony became emotionally distraught when reviewing information on abortion but still wanted a referral for one before she left. She eagerly listened to the Gospel presentation and scheduled a return appointment. Please pray that Ebony comes back for her return appointment. Pray that her heart is softened toward her preborn child and that the Lord would open her eyes to her need for Him. ---------- "Angela" missed her abortion appointment and then called CompassCare because a friend recommended it to her. Unfortunately, she showed up to her appointment under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, making it very difficult to engage as she couldn't concentrate. Angela kept flip-flopping between getting an abortion and continuing her pregnancy. Her nurse did learn that she feels a baby would get in the way of her career and that the father of the baby doesn't know she wants an abortion. Her preborn child is 17 weeks old and the abortionist she missed her appointment with said she had until 22 weeks to "get it done." Angela did ask during the ultrasound if her nurse could tell whether her baby was a boy or a girl. She committed to coming back next week for a return appointment. Please pray that Angela comes back to CompassCare, sober and eager to receive the resources and services her nurse can provide. Pray that she does not follow through with her abortion plan.

PRAISE REPORT: "Lyla" (has toddler, can't find work) returned for her second appointment and happily told her nurse that she has decided to continue her pregnancy! Her whole countenance was full of light and joy. She was fearful about telling the father of the baby about the pregnancy, but when she did he was supportive and said he would take care of them. Lyla confessed that when she came to CompassCare last week she was determined to get an abortion and that she is so glad she came here. She acknowledged that this was a God thing and that His hand was on the whole situation. Thanks for praying for this young woman. Please continue to pray that Lyla would grow in her relationship with God as she moves forward with raising her children.
