April's nurse spoke with her yesterday and she learned that April has decided to carry to term! Please pray for strength and grace as she is experiencing intense morning sickness. Thank you for Praying! _________ Gloria came into CompassCare, determined to get an abortion. She is not going to tell anybody about her decision because she doesn't want to be judged. She has three kids at home and is overwhelmed financially and emotionally. Her ultrasound showed an early pregnancy and no detectable heartbeat yet. When Gloria read the Abortion: Risks and Side-Effects brochure, she was surprised to learn her baby already has nerves and can feel things...this caused her to pause. When asked about God helping her with this decision, Gloria admitted she didn't want to ask Him because she knows what He would want her to do. She said she hasn't been making the healthiest decisions lately and is ashamed to talk to Him. Her nurse spoke of God's great love for her and when asked, Gloria prayed to surrender her life to Christ. After saying earlier she wouldn't come back, she made a return appointment for next week to discuss things further. Please pray that the Gospel seeds planted in the soil of Gloria's soul would take root. Pray that she returns next week, decides to carry to term, and wants to make a MotherCare connection. ________Tracy came in for a second appointment and remains undecided about her pregnancy. She is engaged and has not told her fiance that she is pregnant yet. Tracy wants to be sure about her decision before telling him. She told her nurse she didn't want a second ultrasound because she thought it would confuse her more. Please pray that God gives Tracy the courage to carry her child to term. Pray that she would tell her fiance and that they together would choose to protect their child's life. Layla came in with two friends from high school. She had just found out she is pregnant the night before and found CompassCare online. Layla is petrified of being pregnant right now. She says she thinks abortion is her best option but is hoping she miscarries so she doesn't have to go through with one. She audibly gasped when she heard her six week old baby's heartbeat. Layla agreed to take a week think things over and is meeting with the father of the baby to tell him for the first time. She told her nurse that she spent her younger years going to church with her grandmother and finds comfort in the "idea of God". Her nurse prayed with her and she made a return appointment. Please pray for this young woman this week. Pray that Layla will become convinced that carrying to term is the best option.

UPDATE: Our neighbor Dave, who has been in the hospital since last weekend, has been diagnosed with cancer, possibly stage 4. They'll know more after they do an MRI. Please continue to pray for him and his wife (nominal Christians), for them to have a true relationship with Jesus, and for their physical well-being. (She was diagnosed with M.S. a few months ago and is undergoing treatment.)

"Maria" is in her late 20s, feels she is too old to have another baby, and said she needs an abortion. She has one young daughter and does not want any more children. Her boyfriend and her decided that they can't afford another child. Maria hasn't shared the news of her pregnancy with anyone other than him. Her baby is almost 15 weeks old and as soon as she saw him on the ultrasound screen she started crying. Maria also cried when presented with the Gospel and allowed her nurse to pray with her. She said that no one has ever prayed for her before and she really appreciated it. Please pray for this young woman. Pray that the love and hope found in Christ would permeate her heart and mind. Pray that she returns for a second appointment.

Update on Casey: She will be released from the hospital today! They say the blood on brain was very minimal and there doesn't appear to be any neurological damage at this point. Please pray that there would not be and that this would draw the family closer to Jesus.
