CompassCare

"Jennifer" came into CompassCare wanting an abortion. She has a toddler and her boyfriend has an even younger child. Jennifer gave no reason for wanting an abortion, except she just doesn't want to be pregnant. She had very little to say about the ultrasound besides remarking that it didn't change her mind at all. When presented with the gospel and invited to submit her life to Christ, Jennifer's response was "not now." Please pray that God would soften her heart. Pray she would rehear the words that were spoken to her as she considers her options this week. She seemed very unmoved but we serve the God who moves hearts!

Please pray for my uncle (my father’s last living sibling). My sister and I went to see him and found him on the floor in his bedroom. He said he got dizzy, fell and was unable to get up. He is currently in the hospital pending results of numerous labs and x rays. Please pray for wisdom for his living situation- he lives alone and my cousin is being told he can no longer live alone, which she is aware of but he is extremely resistant to any full time medical assistance. Please pray that he would be willing to accept change in his living situation that would assure his safety and wellbeing. He is 88 years old. Thank you Saints!!

UPDATE on Jeff W.: He reports he is feeling and doing considerably better than a week ago, and has better pain control, and is able to walk a couple hundred feet, Praise God! But there is so much swelling in his low back/pelvic area putting pressure on his nerves that he has continuous numbness in his legs and lack of sensation and control of normal body functions. Please pray for the swelling to decrease so his nerves can function normally again. Pray for his healing and recovery to take just weeks and not the months that the doctors say are possible. They believe they know why he had the seizure that caused the fractures, but various treatment options produce other side effects, so please continue to pray for wisdom for him and his doctors in dealing with this. He and his wife are very thankful for all the prayers and support they’ve received!

CompassCare

"Amy" saw a CompassCare commercial recently and so when she thought she might be pregnant, she knew who to call. She is filled with shame over getting pregnant, telling her nurse how she never wanted to be like other women who get pregnant from guys that already have a lot of kids. Amy also feels that in order to have a child you need to have everything in place; the right job, nice home etc., and she doesn't have any of that. Her nurse confirmed her pregnancy and Amy heard her little baby's heartbeat. She cried when her baby appeared on the screen. Amy shared that it's been a long time since she's been to her grandmother's church and she's thinking about going back. When her nurse shared how God through His Son wants a personal relationship with her, she said she wants that kind of a relationship and prayed to receive Christ. Before leaving she scheduled to return in a week. Please pray for this young woman. Pray that Amy would not allow her feelings of shame to overwhelm her compassion for her preborn child. Pray that she will come back and be willing to connect with a MotherCare team member at a local church.

UPDATE on Craig (in his 30’s, had blood clots in lungs, on heart pump): He continues to make slow improvement, praise God, but is extremely weak so has to be lifted in and out of bed with special equipment. He is able to eat now, which is another improvement. Please continue to pray for his healing, for increasing strength, and for a new heart – especially spiritually, but also physically. Thank you very much for your prayers!
