Riley's disease has progressed! She can’t walk and has paralysis in her right hand and shoulder! She also has a g-tube! My daughter totally lost it and was crying so hard! Our hearts are breaking and it’s so unfair! My other daughter told me that I have to face it that Riley is going to go through what Lilly did and die! I don’t have the strength to lose another grandchild! The pain is unbearable; we only lost Lilly fourteen months ago! How do you go on?

My prayer is for my mom, who is facing some big life changes and not sure what or how to do them. She is divorced and has been on her own many, many years and is struggling in deciding on moving, selling her home, which is too much for her to keep up with on her own, making the best financial decision since she is retired. It has been a decision she has wrestled with for years, and with her physical health with an autoimmune disease and normal aging, these decision need to be made but are overwhelming. She has amazing faith, but when sickness strikes it’s hard to see past it. Thank you all so much. I believe in the power of prayer and know that God will lead her the right way and give her the peace she needs and confidence in Him!

UPDATE on my friend Val (bile duct cancer): Val has a surgery date of May 2 at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. This is her fifth hospital. They believe that Mt Sinai hospital misread the pathology report and that the cancer did NOT spread outside the liver. They will attempt to remove the cancer and leave enough liver for her to survive / have the liver regenerate. And, NO chemo needed. Please pray for wisdom, skill, and steady hands for the surgeons, for a positive outcome, and complete and speedy recovery. Pray for peace, comfort, and strength for Val and her sons Matt and Mitch. She is very grateful for all the prayers and believes they are the reason for this new turn for the positive. Thank you.

"Natalie" told her nurse that she was totally shocked to see a positive pregnancy test. She is in the middle of college and a single mom of two. Natalie is not sure her boyfriend will want her to continue and is shopping for an abortion. After her ultrasound, Natalie said she was surprised at how strong her feelings are toward her baby. She said she is religious and leads her kids in prayer every night but has never surrendered her life to Christ. Natalie committed to thinking about her decision for another week and scheduled a return appointment. Please pray for Natalie that she would call out to her heavenly Father for help. Pray that she returns with a changed mind.

UPDATE from Jeannie: My sister finally had her back surgery this morning and the doctor said everything went well. Praise God! She will see physical therapists tomorrow to get her out of bed and walking. How she does with that will determine when she comes home. Thank you all for your love, concern and prayers.

UPDATE: "Susan" (2 children, felt overwhelmed & alone, surrendered to Christ) came in for her return appointment and agreed to another ultrasound, which showed a growing eight week old baby. She let her nurse know that after taking the week to think more about her decision she has changed her mind and is planning to continue her pregnancy! Thank you for praying for Susan and praise God for delivering her and her preborn baby.

Makhi UPDATE: He had his first birthday celebration at home this past week. His LPN nurses are wonderful and mostly reliable....a huge blessing.

Please pray his weight would increase...he is approx. 10 lbs...to consider a tracheotomy reversal in September, he must be heavier.

He attends PT, OT, Music therapy, Eating therapy weekly. He loves ice cream.

Prayer requests include continued brain cell development, left side hand coordination, and general astounding doctors of continued healing. Jesus, be the center of this beautiful family.

Makhi is a miracle child (mighty warrior) in many ways and generates much joy and delight to mom, dad, and anyone who sees him. The schedule is very busy so continued prayer for peace in the midst is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

UPDATE on Riley: She is out of the ICU but is scheduled for surgery at 7am tomorrow to have a G-tube inserted. Then she'll have to remain in the hospital for at least 48 hours. She had another seizure last night too. Please keep praying for her! Thank you!

Update on my sister — we found out Surgery is Friday the 26th, not Thursday. When we called the hospital to find out why we had not heard from them for check in time they said it was scheduled the 26th. Even though the date we were given at the doctor’s office was the 25th. Another delay for one day!!
