Juliet was released from prison recently. Having lived apart from her two children for the past few years, she doesn't want anything to hinder reconnecting with them and being a good mother to them. She came to CompassCare, believing abortion was her only option considering her circumstances. Confiding in her nurse that her boyfriend wouldn't want to join them for the ultrasound because he would be too sad because he wants another child. Juliet's pregnancy was confirmed, and a healthy 10 week old baby was seen on the screen. After the ultrasound, she told her nurse she had always been pro-life and believes that things happen for a reason. When asked what made her decide to have her two older children, she said God had a lot to do with it. As they talked, Juliet began to reconsider, asking her nurse what would be a next step if she decided to continue. She eagerly prayed to receive Christ, saying that He had been faithful to her in every difficult trial in her life. Please pray that He will give her the courage and provision to do what she already knows is right, be a mom to this third child.

Please pray for me. Thursday I went out for dinner to a Chinese Buffet and I got ferociously sick. After the initial effect subsided, i slept off most of Friday. Additionally, I have been feeling pain in my right hip (first replacement surgery that was done in October of 2013.
I had been planning on coming home tomorrow, but if the pain persists I am going to see if I can get a fairly quick appointment for Tuesday with the assistant surgeon to have it checked out. (The lead surgeon has since retired). Hopefully the hip prosthesis is not the problem , but if pain persists it can’t hurt to be checked out. Hopefully at some point this week I will be home, recovered from food poisoning and pain free. If I am not able to get a fairly quick appointment set, I will get it checked out in Rochester. Please keep this in prayer. So looking forward to coming home! Thank you, Saints!!

"Donna" came in hoping to get info about how and where to get an abortion. When it was explained to her what CompassCare offers, she decided to stay. Donna's life seems overwhelming with four children at home and a sick mom she is taking care of. She was hoping she is too early in her pregnancy to hear a heartbeat so she could, "take care of this with less guilt." The ultrasound revealed an almost eight week baby with a loud heartbeat, which caused an immediate change in Donna's demeanor. Donna confessed to her nurse that abortion is totally against how she was raised. She proclaimed her belief in God and felt badly that she is even considering aborting. Donna did allow her nurse to pray with her and said she is leaving the office grateful for the information she received. She agreed to return next week. Please pray for Donna to think about all the information she received. Pray that she cries out to God for guidance and help, and that she returns, convinced she should carry to term.

UPDATE: Riley is being treated with antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection, but is doing much better this week, PTL! In fact, her physical therapist said she did the best she has ever done with her activity, and she is going today with her classmates to the zoo. I praise the Lord all the time because I know all the good things are from Him!

UPDATE: Maria (late 20's, one young child, financial issue) has decided that she is going to keep her baby! After seeing her 14 week old child on the ultrasound at her last visit she stated, "I don't want to kill my baby." She admitted she still doesn't want another baby now but realizes she should continue her pregnancy. Maria talked to her nurse about a relationship with God and said she wants to get back to church. She really appreciated having the nurse pray with her. Please pray that God would grant Maria peace and grace as she moves forward with this pregnancy. Pray that she would get connected with a church family for support, discipleship, and encouragement. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the heart of Maria's boyfriend (her children's father) as well.
