Please pray for Nancy, a dear sister. About a month ago, she went into Thompson for a week and was sent home with no diagnosis. Then a day in Strong's ER. Again no diagnosis. She's now been up at Rochester General. Earlier this past week she was diagnosed with HLH--a nasty immune disease that attacks muscles and organs (Google it for more info). In adults, it's usually triggered by something and they determined yesterday that it was triggered by non-Hodgkins lymphoma. They were starting to treat the HLH with chemo (even though it's not considered a cancer), steroids and something else. Now with the non-H lymphoma diagnosis, they'll get more aggressive with the chemo.

Pray for peace for Tom( her husband) and that Nancy's not in pain, and that her young adult children are accepting of the diagnosis and would make time to visit. Thank you Koinonia family!

CompassCare

Melinda came to CompassCare feeling very nauseous and asking for an abortion procedure. She has a young baby at home and feels she cannot handle another baby so soon. She has shared the news of her pregnancy with only a few others including the father of the baby, who has told her "It's your choice." At CompassCare, we know that when boyfriends defer to our patients that way, most women (including Melinda) experience that as a lack of support. All of the weight of the decision is now on her. Melinda was very grateful when her nurse was able to offer support and relief for her nausea. When an ultrasound was performed she was surprised to find out she was further along than she expected. She agreed to return in one week, but feels that since she had an abortion before she really doesn't need any information about it. After further conversation with her nurse, Melinda left the office not really sure what she wants to do. Please pray that Melinda will takes time to consider her options this week, and that she would return for a follow-up appointment determined to continue her pregnancy.

Please pray for my daughter Emily, who has been having issues since she delivered her daughter 7 weeks ago. She has an appointment for an ultrasound tomorrow (Oct. 14th) and is scheduled for outpatient surgery on Thursday, if after the ultrasound it is determined to still be necessary.

Embracing Options

Thank you for praying for one of our moms in need of car repairs - she was in today to pick up some items for her newborn son. We continue to encourage her to get connected with a church for her spiritual needs.

"A" is due to have a baby boy in three weeks, we were able to bless her with items for him and for her twin daughters. Please pray for her c-section and as she cares for three children under 3 years of age.

"P" reached out to us to let us know that she had been to the hospital for contractions - praise the Lord they have stopped. Please pray that her stress would be lower and that her pregnancy would not have any further complications.

Please pray for my mother's salvation. My mother is elderly and has dementia. She is now living in a nursing home.

I am having a very difficult time dealing with losing her. I have no relatives and it seems that I have no friends as well. I ask for Jesus to be magnified in my life . I want Jesus to be the most important thing in my life.

UPDATE: My sister-in-law's surgery went well. I went to see her yesterday and brought her a book of God's Promises.

I had composed a letter with the gospel, sealed it in an envelope and tucked it into the book telling her on the envelope to read it alone when she was up to it. When I saw her she was very confused from the anesthesia yet. Please pray for Carol and her husband Carl's salvation, (both in late 70's), that the letter will make it very clear to them that now is the time. Also that the Lord will bind the enemy. Thank you saints!

Embracing Options

"J" is pregnant with twins. Please pray for J as her pregnancy is high risk and she is feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Praise God that her boyfriend "D" accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior during his meeting with our male counselor. They signed up for our parenting class and both J & D took bibles with them. Pray with us that they would experience God up close & personal!

CompassCare

"Carlie" was a CompassCare patient last year. She came in this week with her boyfriend and her 3 month old. Carlie was shocked to be pregnant again so quickly after her baby's birth, and doesn't feel emotionally or financially ready for another child. Only her boyfriend knows she is pregnant. Carlie came back to CompassCare because she trusts the nurses and wants accurate information. Even though she feels her mind is made up, she was encouraged to take time to consider all her options. She does not profess a faith and started disengaging when her nurse introduced the gospel. Carlie is committed to protecting her future reproductive health, so she scheduled a return appointment for another ultrasound. Please pray for Carlie that she would have the courage and joy to face this pregnancy. Pray that God would change her heart toward Him and toward her child over the next week. --------- "Janice" has two young children, including a newborn. She recently found out that she is pregnant again. She works full time and is planning to start her own business, and she doesn't feel ready for another child. Janice told her nurse that she doesn't believe in abortion and worries that she will regret her decision if she decides to terminate. She isn't planning to tell her family, because she knows they are against abortion too. After reviewing the information about abortion with her nurse, Janice agreed to take some time to consider her decision. She allowed the nurse to pray with her and plans to talk to God about this important decision. Please pray that Janice would stay true to her convictions and have the courage to continue her pregnancy.
