CompassCare
"Laura" came to CompassCare two years ago with her first pregnancy. She ended up continuing and then actually delivered prematurely. Her daughter is somewhat behind developmentally because of her early entry into the world. This reality, plus being in college and breaking up with her boyfriend recently, has made life extra challenging. Laura is not sure she wants to continue and came to CompassCare because she trusts the nurses and remembers the care she received last time. She is too early in her pregnancy to confirm viability and so scheduled to come back next week. Please pray for clarity and courage for Laura. Pray she returns next week for another appointment. Pray that the Lord softens her heart to receive the Gospel.

Please pray for Bryan who will be getting a kidney transplant on Tuesday, 2/11/20 after waiting many years for one. It will take place in a Syracuse hospital. His good friend Joey will be donating one of his kidneys. Pray for travel mercies and that all goes well with both operations and that there will be no complications. Thank you so much for keeping these concerns in prayer.

From CompassCare: "Ashley" appeared visibly upset from the very start of her appointment. She recently connected with an old boyfriend and it ended in her getting pregnant. Ashley is embarrassed that she is in this predicament, stating that she knows better. She is ashamed to tell her family who she knows will be disappointed in her. They supported her through an unplanned pregnancy 10 years ago but she feels they will have an even harder time with this one. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm so Ashley agreed to return next week to discuss her situation further. She feels deep shame and regret. When her nurse spoke to Ashley about God's grace and mercy, she eagerly affirmed her belief in Him and asked for prayer. Please pray that Ashley would courageously choose to share her situation with her family. Pray that they would graciously and lovingly respond. Pray that she would be released from the shame that is driving her to consider abortion.
UPDATES: "Holly" (conflicted; has support, but scared of motherhood) came for her return appointment and shared that she is even more determined to abort because she and the father of the baby are not getting along. She has experienced a second trimester abortion before and said she can handle it again. Holly saw her baby on the ultrasound screen and asked if the heartbeat sounds okay. Her concern over her baby is in sharp contrast to her fear over continuing. Her nurse offered another appointment and Holly scheduled one for next week. Please pray for Holly this week. Pray that her maternal concern would outweigh her fear of continuing. --------- "Calli" (struggled with having a baby) came back for her return appointment and this time heard her baby's heartbeat. She then shared with her nurse she is going to continue her pregnancy and how grateful she is for the help she received. Calli will connect with a MotherCare team member for discipleship and growth. Thank you for praying! ---------- "Haven" (lives w/mom; has several children) returned for her follow-up appointment and said she has decided to carry her pregnancy to term! She testified to how God has been at work in her heart, reminding her of how precious each of her children are. She connected with some supportive family members and that helped tremendously as well. Praise God for this beautiful work in her life and pray that her new job will enable her to find her own housing soon.
