From David Jeremiah (Turning Point Ministries): Today is the National Day of Prayer. As we focus our prayers on those among us who are sick and hurting, our brave frontline healthcare workers in this coronavirus battle, and our nation’s leaders, I ask you to join me in this prayer for America:

In all history, there has been only one nation like America— founded by pilgrims seeking freedom to worship, dedicated to the proposition that we are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.

You have delivered us in war, prospered us in peace, and raised up generations willing to offer the last full measure of their devotion for the preservation of liberty at home and abroad. We have been a light for the world.

But now, America has fallen into darkness, disobedience, and indifference. We have sinned; and we, Your people, Lord, humble ourselves, and pray and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways. Please forgive our sin and heal our land.

May the torch of liberty continue to burn brightly, inflamed by the goodness of Your people. Amen, and Amen!

From CompassCare: "Marlee" came into CompassCare with her boyfriend. She thinks she may be pregnant and wants confirmation. During her appointment, Marlee confided in her nurse that she is conflicted about what to do. She is about to graduate and is planning on traveling for work. She is scared and doesn’t really want kids of her own, but abortion seems scary to her too. Marlee told the nurse that her boyfriend is really excited to be a dad and would like her to continue. She also said she has been praying a lot about what to do. Marlee is too early to confirm her pregnancy and so she scheduled for a follow-up appointment for next week. Please pray for Marlee as she considers her options. Pray she will be encouraged by the support from her boyfriend and will determine to continue her pregnancy. -------- Coming to America as a refugee, "Moriah" has worked hard to support herself and her family. She is married with two children, and is currently spread thin over work and school. She was not surprised when her pregnancy test came back positive but wants to pursue her career, not have another child. She knows that her family will support her carrying the pregnancy but she wants to keep the news between her and her husband. During her appointment, Moriah saw her healthy seven-week-old baby on the ultrasound. “It’s so sad,” Moriah whispered, though she is still pursuing an abortion. She declined a return appointment as she is set on her decision. Please pray for Moriah and her family. Pray that she will not pursue an abortion. Pray that she will have the courage to sacrifice her desires for a career on behalf of her child, and pray that God will reveal Himself to Moriah and her family. -------- UPDATE: "Corrie" returned to CompassCare for her follow-up appointment. As soon as she sat down, she told the nurse, “I can’t have these babies.” The drama with her ex-boyfriend is causing her a tremendous amount of stress, and she feels that she can’t bring twins into such a toxic situation. Corrie and her nurse discussed how she might make a decision not based on what others think or how they push her, but on what is true and good. This encouraged Corrie, as did connecting with a previous CompassCare patient who had gone on to carry her twins. Although she has made an appointment for an abortion, she agreed to return next week for a third appointment. She also expressed interest in adoption and said she will strongly consider it over the next week. Please continue to pray for Corrie. Pray that God will give her the courage to stand up for the lives of these two babies, and that the discouragement that is continually weighing her down will be replaced with the peace that only He can bring.

UPDATES: In "Jenna"'s follow-up appointment, her nurse confirmed her pregnancy via ultrasound. During the ultrasound, Jenna was evidently impacted by the image and heartbeat of her baby. She didn’t say much but took the pictures of her six-week-old baby. Jenna had discussed the situation with her boyfriend, and they both concluded that their lives are too chaotic for a baby. Please pray for Jenna. Pray that she will choose to protect the life of her baby, no matter the cost. Pray that she will listen to her mom, who is encouraging her to carry to term. -------- "Noel" returned for her second appointment and is still wrestling with her decision, including adoption. She saw her baby on the ultrasound and heard his heartbeat but left still undecided. Please continue to pray for Noel as she thinks through her options. Please pray that God will show her what a precious gift her baby is, and that He will give her strength to choose to continue.

I have a friend who has been serving with Samaritan's Purse in NYC as a medical responder. She will be on her way home tomorrow, and has sent news that the LGBTQ's there have been protesting so vehemently against Samaritan's Purse that they are being asked to leave. They claim that Samaritan's Purse is showing bias in who they will treat, though that is completely untrue. We know, as Christians what the real problem is, but they will be pushing away treatment teams that are very much needed for so many. Please pray.

Please pray for our granddaughter, Paige (18 yrs old). She was taken to the hospital yesterday because she was having trouble breathing. They will be doing more testing today, but believe it is either a tear in her esophogus or air pockets. Please pray for a proper diagnosis. Thank you.
