After a positive home pregnancy test, "Jen" had trouble sleeping. She told her family about the results immediately and went back and forth multiple times regarding her pregnancy. She didn’t want an abortion but couldn’t see herself having a baby either. At her first appointment with CompassCare, Jen learned that she was still very early in her pregnancy — too early to confirm. She told her nurse that she believes that God allows things to happen for a reason. Jen left still undecided. Jen returned for a follow-up appointment and was surprised to learn that she is carrying twins! “A double blessing!” she exclaimed, telling her nurse that she will carry these babies no matter what. Jen said she had an abortion scheduled for the very next day and her boyfriend has been pressuring her to get one, but she has found support from others and is now committed to carrying her pregnancy to term. Before leaving her appointment, Jen also prayed to receive Christ as her Savior and wants to connect with a local church. Praise God for what He is doing in Jen’s life! Pray that she will continue to walk in courage as she grows in knowledge of God. And pray that her boyfriend’s heart will be softened and that he will come alongside Jen as a support for her. -------- "Terlynne" came to CompassCare with her young baby in tow to talk through her options for her newly discovered pregnancy. She feels it will be too much to have another baby right now. Thankfully, her boyfriend wants her to have the baby and is offering his full support. Terlynne knows that her family will also support her but hasn’t told them yet. Seeing her 12-week-old preborn baby on the ultrasound and talking about her options with her nurse caused Terlynne to pause. She was never comfortable with getting an abortion but hadn’t known about all her other options and the many resources available to her. She was greatly encouraged by her nurse praying for her, “I really needed that. I never get prayed for at my doctor’s office.” She agreed to take time to think through her decision and is scheduled for a return appointment next week. Please keep Terlynne in your prayers. Praise God that she is willing to take time to consider her options, and pray that she will choose to carry her pregnancy to term.

My nephew's girlfriend and her roommate just tested positive for the virus, and my nephew has spent the last month with her. I'm asking for prayer for my nephew, for his girlfriend and her roommate, and for my sister (Lisa) and her husband (David). My sister has been up here visiting from Dallas and her husband was supposed to come up, but now he's canceled his plans. Asking for prayer for them all that they don't end up getting sick. Right now they show no symptoms. Jehovah Rapha, we lift up these kids and the families and all that have been around them... Lord, we pray Your hand of protection, healing and comfort on them! In Jesus name!

"Lydia" was downcast when she came in for her appointment. She suspected that she is pregnant and told her nurse that if she is, she will get an abortion. One of Lydia’s cousins is a former CompassCare patient and strongly recommended she come in to consider her options. Right now, she feels that her life is too chaotic for a newborn and doesn’t know how she can be a good mother. Lydia was shocked to see an active 15-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen. Her nurse could tell that there was an instant connection between the mother and baby. This was her baby now, and Lydia openly marveled at what she saw. The sight of her baby was clearly encouraging to Lydia and she became much more cheerful. She left the appointment saying that she needs time to think about her options but was no longer determined to get an abortion. Praise God for her willingness to take time to consider her options, and pray that she will be given a strong desire to protect her baby. -------- UPDATES: Praise God for answering prayers on behalf of "Sarita" (has 2 children; baby's father in jail)! She returned for her follow-up appointment and told her nurse that, after much thought, she knew it was God’s will for her to have this child. She seemed like a different person, full of joy and peace rather than fear and uncertainty. Sarita is excited to carry to term, and left the office singing out loud! Thank you for praying! -------- "Janice" (lives with mom, has toddler) returned for her follow-up appointment. She has spoken with her family and the father of the baby, and has made a decision to get an abortion. During her ultrasound, she told her nurse that seeing her baby makes her emotional. Janice doesn’t want to consider adoption because she doesn’t believe that anyone could take care of her baby the way she could. However, she can’t see herself carrying a baby to term at this time. In her previous appointment, she had expressed immense guilt for even considering abortion, and it seems that she is still very much conflicted. Please continue to pray that God would intervene in Janice’s life. Pray that she will reconsider her decision despite the pressures of her current situation. --------- During a follow-up call, "Joanne" (married with 3 children) told her nurse that she is planning on continuing her pregnancy! When asked what changed her mind, she said, “I decided to listen to my heart.” She is optimistic about the future, planning on reopening her business soon and is excited to meet her baby in the fall. Praise God for intervening and turning Joanne’s heart toward the life of her child!
