Please continue to pray for Mike G. (numbness in legs), who fell again and is back in the hospital. Thank God he wasn't seriously injured from the fall, but needs more rehab and is still hopeful he will again be able to walk with a walker.

"Lissy" is working and living in the city with her mother, who accompanied her to the appointment. While Lissy is considering abortion, her mother and the father of the baby have not pressured her to continue or terminate the pregnancy. "He doesn't care what I do," Lissy said in reference to the father. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm and Lissy agreed to take time to make her decision. She expressed fear and said she is overwhelmed. Her nurse shared the gospel with her and she decided to surrender her life to Jesus. She plans to return in one week. Please pray for Lissy to have the courage to overcome her fears and choose life for her child. -------- UPDATE: "Cherise" and her daughters have moved to a shelter where they have their own studio apartment. She can stay there until social services connects her with other housing. She came back to CompassCare three weeks after her initial appointment. After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, she said, "I think I'll probably keep it. The more time passes, the more developed it is." She's struggling with anxiety, isn't sleeping well and continues to fight through nausea and a lack of appetite. Her nurse reminded her of the importance of staying hydrated and answered other medical questions. Cherise has not yet seen an OB, which her nurse encouraged her to do. Please continue to pray for Cherise, specifically that she is connected to affordable childcare so she can work consistently and she remains strong in her resolve to not return to her abusive former partner.

A good friend and colleague, Chris, asked for prayer for his wife Debbie. She has been experiencing excruciating abdominal pain for many months. Doctors have not been able to diagnose the reason. Very consuming, financially, emotionally and spiritually draining. Asking for prayers for her hope, healing and /or diagnosis for treatment. Thank you!

"Vicky" found CompassCare on Google and came in saying she needs to get an abortion. She is a single mother of five children and feels overwhelmed and financially strained. She told her nurse she's not sure she wants to remain connected to the father of the baby. "It's my right to end a pregnancy," she said. "No one can take that away from me." The sight of her child on the ultrasound screen brought tears to Vicky's eyes. She told her nurse about two abortions she had in the past and admitted she is struggling with the idea of getting another one. She listened to the gospel but did not decide to surrender her life to Christ. She plans to return in a week for another ultrasound. Please pray for Vicky's heart and mind as she decides between life and death for her child. Pray she chooses life and the seeds of the gospel begin to take root in her life. --------- UPDATE on "Mia" (previous patient who has child, but family not accepting of baby's father): She has not come back to CompassCare but her nurse has reached out several times by phone. Initially she said she was wavering back and forth about abortion, but during the most recent phone call she said she plans to get an abortion. "I have a plan already," she told her nurse. Please pray for God to miraculously change Mia's mind and stop her abortion plans. Pray for this child's life to be spared and for Mia to find new life in Christ.

"Alayla" found out she is pregnant with her third child and rushed in to CompassCare mistakenly believing she could get an abortion on demand at the office. Her nurse kindly explained abortion is not provided or referred by CompassCare and invited her to stay for an appointment. Alayla agreed to stay and talked with the nurse. She explained she has "problems" with the father of the baby, who is also the father of her two other children. She wants to get an abortion. Initially the father resisted the idea, but then said, "I never wanted it, so I will support whatever you decide." When Alayla saw her twelve-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen, she had no emotional reaction and asked for an abortion referral. Her nurse explained again that CompassCare does not refer for abortion but continued to talk with her about the tensions in her life and shared the gospel with her. Alayla did not decide to surrender her life to Christ but mentioned a grandmother who is a Christian. She agreed to come for a return appointment but conlcuded the appointment saying, "My mind is made up." Pray her heart is softened towards her child and she chooses life. --------- UPDATE: Thank you for continuing to pray for "Ella". She is still pregnant and committed to coming in for a return appointment this week. Pray Ella follows through with her appointment and makes a resolute decision to continue her pregnancy.
