CompassCare
"Cindy" is raising three children, one of whom is only 6 months old. Having battled breast cancer several years ago, she is concerned her body is not strong enough to sustain a healthy pregnancy so soon after giving birth. She thinks abortion might be a safer path for her to take, although the father of the baby wants her to continue the pregnancy. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm and she agreed to take a week to seek support and health information. She was also interested in MotherCare as an additional support. She was receptive to hearing the gospel but did not decide to surrender her life to Christ at the moment. At the end of the appointment, she said she will most likely get an abortion but was grateful to receive information on the risks associated with abortion and felt they were important to consider. Please pray for Cindy's fear to be transformed into confidence as she considers what her future could look like if she continues this pregnancy and raises her child. --------- UPDATE: Please continue to pray for "Lily". A MotherCare volunteer drove her to her second appointment at CompassCare. She is still battling nausea and vomiting, needing hospitalization since last week. She said she wanted to come back to CompassCare because she feels free to talk with her nurse. However, she said she has an abortion appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Please pray for God to miraculously intervene in Lily's life, giving her the strength and desire to continue her pregnancy.

CompassCare
"Lily" came to CompassCare after visiting urgent care for extreme nausea and vomiting. She found out she is pregnant and was diagnosed with hyperemesis, a condition that can be debilitating during pregnancy. She told her nurse, "I just want to put this pregnancy behind me and feel better." Lily explained she needs to get an abortion so she can move on from her relationship with the controlling man who is the father of the baby. Her nurse provided her with anti-nausea medication which provided some relief and began the ultrasound exam. When Lily saw her 8-week-old baby and heard his heartbeat, she was moved emotionally. She was relieved to learn about supports such as housing for women fleeing abusive relationships and MotherCare. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, she surrendered her life to Jesus. Please pray for Lily to grow in her relationship with Jesus and make a firm decision to continue her pregnancy. Pray she gets relief from her hyperemesis and returns for a second appointment.

Please pray for a friend, John's 29 year old daughter Deanna, who recently had her colon removed due to cancer. She has 3 children. They were not able to get it all, so she will be receiving treatment. John and his wife lost their younger daughter Lindsay to breast cancer just over 2 years ago. She also had 3 children. Pray for healing for Deanna and also for God's peace for John and Barb. They are believers.
