CompassCare

"Danielle" came to CompassCare determined to get an abortion. She feels overwhelmed raising her three kids alone and does not know who the father of this baby is. She has an appointment with her OB this week, explaining the practice offers abortions as well as prenatal care. Danielle was able to see her 8-week-old baby via ultrasound. When she heard the gospel message, she said she had been thinking about going to church. Her nurse offered her the opportunity to surrender her life to Christ and she agreed to do so, praying on the spot in the exam room. "I feel relieved," she said. Please pray for Danielle's new relationship with Christ to strengthen her and give her the confidence to continue this pregnancy. --------- Please also pray for "Evelyn", a woman in her mid-forties who is reeling from the news that she is pregnant. She has two other grown children. She's considering abortion because she could not do her physically demanding job while pregnant. She's also concerned about having a healthy pregnancy at her age and during the COVID crisis. Evelyn feels conflicted, saying she believes children are a blessing and a pregnancy at her age is a miracle. She did not make a return appointment after getting her pregnancy confirmed, but she did answer the phone and talk with her nurse. She said, "Things are getting pretty scary." Her nurse assured her CompassCare is here to help her navigate her pregnancy decision process. She was appreciative of the call. She was open to the gospel but not ready to commit her life to Christ. She said she prays every day. Please pray for Evelyn's fears to subside and for her to turn to Christ for peace and guidance.

CompassCare

"Cindy" is raising three children, one of whom is only 6 months old. Having battled breast cancer several years ago, she is concerned her body is not strong enough to sustain a healthy pregnancy so soon after giving birth. She thinks abortion might be a safer path for her to take, although the father of the baby wants her to continue the pregnancy. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm and she agreed to take a week to seek support and health information. She was also interested in MotherCare as an additional support. She was receptive to hearing the gospel but did not decide to surrender her life to Christ at the moment. At the end of the appointment, she said she will most likely get an abortion but was grateful to receive information on the risks associated with abortion and felt they were important to consider. Please pray for Cindy's fear to be transformed into confidence as she considers what her future could look like if she continues this pregnancy and raises her child. --------- UPDATE: Please continue to pray for "Lily". A MotherCare volunteer drove her to her second appointment at CompassCare. She is still battling nausea and vomiting, needing hospitalization since last week. She said she wanted to come back to CompassCare because she feels free to talk with her nurse. However, she said she has an abortion appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Please pray for God to miraculously intervene in Lily's life, giving her the strength and desire to continue her pregnancy.
