CompassCare

"Fiona" is parenting an infant and working on her high school diploma. She came to CompassCare considering abortion because she is in a relationship with an emotionally and physically abusive partner, but he may not be the father of the baby. Both men involved are pressuring her to get an abortion.

After seeing her baby during the ultrasound, Fiona said she still plans to abort. However, as she talked with her nurse about the tensions in her life, she realized she had a desire to carry to term. Her nurse shared the gospel with her and she surrendered her life to Christ. She is interested in being paired with a MotherCare mentor and returning for another appointment. Please pray for Fiona to be strengthened spiritually as she faces pressures and opposition in her life. Pray God gives her all she needs to courageously choose life. --------- "Joanne" is a mother managing chronic illness with medication. Her doctor has advised her that pregnancy could damage her health and the medications she uses would be harmful to a developing baby. She is considering abortion. Joanne's pregnancy was too early to confirm. She agreed to take time to consider her options and talk further with her doctor. Please pray for Joanne's health and the health of her child. Without miraculous intervention, the prognosis is not favorable. Pray for Joanne to have clarity and strength for this pregnancy. --------- "Alicia" is in her mid-twenties and currently getting treatment in a chemical dependency program. She is unsure of who the father of the baby is. She struggled to concentrate during the appointment. Her pregnancy was unable to be confirmed. She interrupted the appointment by getting on the phone with Planned Parenthood to make an appointment for a chemical abortion ten days from now. She declined taking informational brochures and left early. Please pray for the right people to be placed in Alicia's path to help her slow down and take stock of her health and circumstances before she makes a hasty decision to get an abortion. Pray also for her nurse as she reaches out by phone. ------- "Moriah" is raising a young child and struggles with substance abuse. She had already been to Planned Parenthood where she found out she was too far along for a chemical abortion when she came to CompassCare. The ultrasound revealed an active eleven-week-old baby. Moriah remarked at how much he was moving. When her nurse talked with her about God, she said she was raised a Christian but does not consider herself in relationship with God. "I think I will get an abortion, but maybe I should come back here again first," she told her nurse. Please pray for the seeds of Moriah's Christian upbringing to bear fruit in her heart and mind as she considers her future with or without this child.

Thank you for covering CompassCare staff and the women who come through their doors. We are asking for your continued prayers for these specific requests throughout the month of January, an especially challenging time for them:

1. The nursing staff in Buffalo and Rochester. These women are on the front lines, pouring themselves out on behalf of women and their preborn babies. Please pray for endurance, perseverance, compassion, grace.

2. The New York State Abortion Reduction Plan - a God-sized vision to expand CompassCare’s life-saving services to each abortion hub city in New York.

3. Wisdom and favor as CompassCare continues to press the lawsuit CompassCare v. Cuomo on behalf of all religious organizations in NY.

4. Increased patient load and softened hearts for the CompassCare nursing team to share the message of life and Gospel of truth with these women.

5. One of the CompassCare’s core values that is best summarized as Holy Spirit inspired grit. The team is committed to fight for the lives of women and their preborn children, no matter what.

6. CompassCare patients who are experiencing greater than normal stress at home because of COVID and the continued uncertainty and instability.
