CompassCare

"Tarra" had a baby less than a year ago and finds herself pregnant again. She was a patient at CompassCare previously. She considered aborting her first child but found she had more support from her family than she expected and decided to carry to term. Now, she is unsure if she will have the same support. Tarra feels nervous about telling her family she is pregnant again. The father of the baby said she can decide to get an abortion if she wants to, but he would support her keeping the child as well. Her nurse shared the gospel with her. Tarra was not interested in surrendering her life to Christ but did allow her nurse to pray for her. Please pray for Tarra to value both of her children equally and choose to protect the life of her preborn child. -------- "Simone", who recently found out she is pregnant, went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion, but was turned away due to the gestational age of her baby of eighteen weeks. She came to CompassCare to get more information on her options. She has a toddler who was adopted by his father's family. She recently had an abortion and currently is not in a stable relationship with the father of this baby. She said she is ok with getting another abortion and has her mother's support for that decision. After the ultrasound, Simone was quiet. Her cousin who accompanied her tried to convince her to keep the baby. Simone said she believes things happen for a reason and believes in God when spiritual matters were discussed. Please pray for Simone to break free from the cycles of pain and death in her life. Pray for her baby to be spared from the pain of abortion. --------- "Mary" came to CompassCare recently intending to carry her pregnancy to term. However, when she returned for her STI test results, she was upset to hear that she needs treatment for an infection. She feels betrayed by the father of the baby and could not carry on a conversation with her nurse due to her distress. She said this news changes things and she might get an abortion now. Her ultrasound did not conclusively confirm the viability of her pregnancy. Her nurse reviewed the risks of getting an abortion with an unresolved infection and the needless risks associated with aborting an unconfirmed pregnancy. She offered Mary a return appointment for treatment and another ultrasound, but Mary refused. Please pray for Mary during this painful time. Pray for her to value herself and her child enough to say no to abortion and seek healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. -------- UPDATES: "Lacey", the woman in her twenties who is involved in a gang, had said she plans to get an abortion when she first came to CompassCare. When her nurse reached out to her this week, she said she is still pregnant. Lacey's opportunity to get a chemical abortion will close in a few days based on the gestational age of her baby. Please pray she will return to CompassCare for a repeat ultrasound and discuss her options further. Pray for God's purpose to prevail in her child's life. --------- "Francene" had came to CompassCare considering getting a fifth abortion. She had just distanced herself from the abusive father of her baby when she found out she is pregnant. Although she felt strongly that she could not be connected to him through having his baby, she also felt it would be impossible for her to endure the emotional toll of another abortion. Her pregnancy could not be confirmed due to its early stage, so Francene returned for another ultrasound. She was able to hear her baby's heartbeat this time. She shared with her nurse that her mom and sister have agreed to support her in continuing her pregnancy. She's unsure if she will parent her child or place him in an adoptive family. She also needs to navigate the legalities of her relationship with the father of the baby. Praise God for breaking the cycle of abortion in Francene's life. Please continue to pray for her and her baby to be kept safe from her abuser and for her to discern the best path forward for both of them.

Pastor Tony

UPDATES from Pastor Tony: Mike Grabowski has been moved from the hospital back to a rehab facility in Canandaigua, although he now has pancreatitis and kidney stones, which may require surgery. Please pray for the Lord's healing touch and strengthening for him, and for insurance issues to be resolved to enable him to be moved closer to home. -------- Please also continue to pray for Eric Angelo (bipolar disorder; whereabouts unknown). His Mom is heartbroken and appreciates prayer for the Lord's mercy and protection for her son, and that he would get the help he needs.

CompassCare

"Morgan" came to CompassCare the same day she discovered she is pregnant. She said she needs to get an abortion. "I don't have good genes," she explained to her nurse, referring to mental illness and substance abuse in her family history. She said she also struggles with anxiety and alcohol abuse. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm via ultrasound. Her nurse noticed a necklace she was wearing and asked about it. She said, "It's St. Jude. I believe in second chances." Her nurse then shared the gospel with her and asked her to consider surrendering her life to Christ. Morgan agreed to come back next week for another appointment. Please pray for Morgan to turn to Jesus for the fresh start she longs for and her baby's future depends on. -------- "Sheila" is raising two children and recently found out she is pregnant again. She feels overwhelmed, saying, "I just had a baby. I can't afford another one!" She is working two jobs and feels it would be impossible to raise another child. Her mother has advised her to get an abortion. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm via ultrasound. After the exam, Sheila started crying. When her nurse asked her what she was feeling, she said, "I'm tired." She was not interested in talking about God, but indicated she has a faith background. Pray for Sheila's strength to be renewed and for those around her to speak life and encouragement in the coming days. Pray for her and her fiancée to decide to continue her pregnancy.

CompassCare

"Nadine" came to CompassCare with her preschool-aged daughter. Although Nadine was initially planning to carry her pregnancy to term and her daughter is aware of the pregnancy, she said something has changed her mind and she is considering abortion. She was unwilling to share what is driving that decision. Her ultrasound exam revealed a fifteen-week-old baby. She commented that it was hard to hear the heartbeat. She wanted to know if the baby looked healthy and asked about the gender. When going over abortion information, she read the pamphlet out loud and expressed surprise about the risks associated with surgical abortion. She listened to the gospel presented and allowed her nurse to pray for her. Please pray for Nadine and both of her children, especially for her preborn child at risk for abortion. Pray for God to reveal Himself to Nadine and lead her in truth and grace. -------- "Aria" came to CompassCare considering abortion. Although the father of the baby wants her to continue the pregnancy, she said, "I have a lot going on. Now does not seem like a good time to start raising a child."

She went on to say she has not told anyone but the father about the baby, and she thinks she should terminate based on her assessment that her health conditions would lead to a high risk pregnancy. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm so she plans to return for a second appointment. Please pray for Aria's steps to be ordered by the Lord and for Him to use this pregnancy to reorient her towards Himself. -------- UPDATE: Thank you for praying for "Lily", who came to CompassCare in late November suffering from hyperemesis in the early stages of pregnancy. She felt physically debilitated and hopeless. On top of her physical struggles, she had just left her abusive partner and was worried her pregnancy with his child would prevent her from moving on with her life. At her first appointment, she surrendered her life to Christ and agreed to be put in contact with a MotherCare volunteer. Over the next several weeks, Lily vacillated constantly about whether she would get an abortion or continue her pregnancy. Her MotherCare mentor remained engaged and available to talk and help Lily in practical ways, including driving a distance to pick her up and bring her to her second appointment at CompassCare. After being hospitalized for her extreme nausea, Lily scheduled an abortion appointment, and we again asked for prayer on her behalf. About a month later, she returned to CompassCare, still pregnant, with her MotherCare mentor accompanying her. She was amazed to see her developing baby again on the ultrasound screen. Still, she expressed doubts about continuing. Again God's people prayed. Since that appointment in late December, Lily has resolved to continue her pregnancy and is feeling better physically. She has no support from the father of the baby, but has grown a meaningful relationship with her MotherCare mentor, which has made a significant difference in her confidence about keeping this child. While Lily does not yet feel comfortable coming to church on a Sunday morning, she has been attending a small Bible study with her mentor. Her mentor has also transported Lily's older child to youth group. It is evident that God has done a good work in Lily's life through God's people on mission! Thank you for praying!

Dan S.

Dan S. - Praise report update on my sister Sharon from SC. To God be the Glory! Amen and Amen. Recall, suffering from COVID, she was in the ED when her heart stopped? God's timing is always perfect! She was resuscitated, received a negative report on her heart catheterization, had a defib device installed as a future precaution, released from the hospital, is home and has no more COVID infection, and has a wonderful testimony that she has begun sharing with her friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Thank you saints for praying for my sister. To God be the Glory! Amen and amen. God bless you all!

Thank you for faithfully prayer for my brother. He survived all the surguries and is now off the ventilator and breathing on his own! God is so good! They have taken him off a few medications and weaning him from one more, and he no longer has to take Coumadin because he has a bovine valve instead of mechanical. We are not out of the woods yet; he comes home in another week, which is a miracle! Our Lord is faithful in so many things. Our entire family thanks you for praying!
