"Jodie" is a college junior who came to CompassCare while visiting from out of state. Her mom leads a pro-life organization in her home state. "I know abortion is killing a human and I would be a murderer if I got an abortion," she told the nurse. "But I have to get an abortion and I can't tell anyone about it." She said the father of the baby is scared and told her he would support whatever she decides. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm, but she is returning home before she can come back for another appointment. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, she became tearful. "I believe that. I'm a Christian," she said. "That's what makes this even harder." Please pray for Jodie to hear the Lord's voice above all others in her life. Pray for God to restore her and protect the life of her baby. ------- "Isla" is a mother raising four young children who said she wants to get an abortion because she just can't have a baby right now. She is working on a college degree and believes this is bad timing. When she saw her six-week-old baby with a strong heartbeat, she became emotional and told the father of the baby, "We're having a baby." Although she was clearly emotional and even expressed excitement about a due date close to Christmas, she said she really wasn't sure she could raise another child. Please pray for Isla, who considers herself a Christian, to have the courage to say "yes" to this baby and "no" to abortion. ------ "Cynthia" told her nurse she needs to get an abortion for the third time. She is raising two young children on her own and the father of the baby is in jail. "I know it is a human life," she said. However, she feels her circumstances are too difficult and abortion is her only choice. When her nurse shared the gospel with her, she decided to surrender her life to Christ. Please pray for her to follow God's leadership in the coming days and for her nurse to represent Christ to her in her next appointment. -------- UPDATE/PRAISE: "Jackie" had come to CompassCare thinking she needed an abortion because she lacked confidence as a mother. Her son lives with her mother because she has struggled to bond due to post-partum depression. When her brother was murdered the same week she found out she is pregnant again, she felt she could not find the strength to continue her pregnancy. However, during her appointment she began to wonder aloud if the baby was actually a blessing from God. When she returned for a second appointment, she said she had decided to keep her baby. Her mother has agreed to support her and that made all the difference to her. Praise God for His intervention in Jackie's life. Pray for the truths she has heard to lead her into relationship with Him and for a time of healing to come in her life as she prepares to welcome this child.

"Cheryl" came to CompassCare to confirm her pregnancy. "I never want to have children," she told her nurse. She has an abortion scheduled for this week. Her ultrasound revealed a six-week-old baby. She had no visible reaction to the image. She politely listened to the gospel and stated she believes there are many paths to God. She intends to go through with getting an abortion. Please pray for Cheryl's heart to be softened and changed. Pray for her baby's life to be spared from abortion this week. ------- "Monica" recently found out she is pregnant, but she has a young child with special needs and feels she cannot have another baby right now. She was set on getting an abortion until she saw the eight-week-old baby moving on the screen and heard the heartbeat. "Oh no, that's crazy," she remarked. "I don't want to look." She shed a few tears and admitted to feeling sad. Monica agreed to take more time to make her decision and discuss it further with the father of the baby and her mother. "I realize this is a big decision," she said. Please pray Monica will have a change of heart and for God to supply her with the courage she needs to continue this pregnancy. -------- "Lucy" had an abortion last fall and is pregnant again. Although she regrets the abortion, carrying this pregnancy to term would mean being the single mother of four children. She has no support from the father of the baby. She describes herself as homeless, but is living with her sister while waiting for housing from social services. Lucy seemed to connect with her baby during the ultrasound and said she believes abortion is wrong. She also believes Jesus died to save her. She decided to connect with a MotherCare mentor and scheduled a return appointment. Please pray for Lucy to draw near to Jesus during this time and trust Him completely with her life and the life of her child. Pray for her MotherCare mentor to have wisdom and grace to establish a meaningful relationship.

"Jasmine" is a high school senior who just found out she is pregnant. Although she and the father of the baby were initially excited, adults in her life (including her mom) are concerned she cannot handle the responsibility of a child at her age. "It's cute!" she exclaimed when she saw her six-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen. She agreed to take time to consider her decision. Please pray for Jasmine and her family to make decisions that protect the life of this baby and provide for his or her future needs. -------- "Maria" is a college student without family support in the area. When she learned she is pregnant, she felt alone and scared. She made up her mind to get an abortion. Knowing her mother is against abortion and would be happy to have a grandchild, she has chosen not to tell her about the pregnancy, although they are close. At her initial appointment, her pregnancy was too early to confirm, so she agreed to return for another ultrasound and to get test results. She said, however, "I can't take time to consider this." She planned to get an abortion as soon as the pregnancy was confirmed and she was sure she did not have any infections. She cried through the gospel presentation and expressed a desire to follow Christ. At her second appointment, Maria gasped when she heard her baby's heartbeat. She also learned she needs treatment for an infection and abortion carries higher health risks if she were to proceed without treatment. She said she still plans to get the abortion after her mother leaves town. "I'm fine," she insisted. Please pray for Maria to bond with her child and decide against abortion. Pray for her child's life and health to be protected and for Maria to embrace Christ. -------- "Sela" is in her late twenties and raising three children. She feels daunted by the news of her pregnancy, fearing a repeat of past experiences with miscarriages, a difficult delivery, and post partum depression. "I don't believe in abortion..." she told her nurse, but she feels she might need one. She listened to the gospel presentation but did not want to surrender to Christ or receive prayer. "I heard all of this from by dad before," she said. She agreed to return for another appointment. Please pray for the seeds of the gospel sown in Sela's heart over the years to take root and grow rapidly. Pray for her to surrender her life and her fears to the Lord and choose to continue her pregnancy.

Fred W. is dealing with a couple of chronic health issues, and has an MRI scheduled later this month because of numbness & tingling in his head and left arm. He asks for prayer for his health. ------- UPDATES: The Buchiere family report they are all doing much better and are thankful for all the prayers from the saints. ------- Mike Grabowski thanks everyone for their prayers and states his hope is in Jesus; however, he's very discouraged over the recent physical/medical "setbacks” and remains hospitalized. UPDATE on Steve Hollis: He remains on a ventilator and in an induced coma, but he has not had a fever recently so they are thinking the bacterial infection is going away. They are coming down a little on the sedation, so they will be putting in a tracheotomy and feeding tube tomorrow. That will make it more comfortable having it all off his face when he starts to wake up. Please continue to pray for his healing and recovery.

Please pray for my friend Manny and her family. Last September Manny had a stroke which affected her communication and comprehension. Over the past few weeks her mental and emotional condition has deteriorated. She is no longer talking to her family and she is refusing to eat, drink, or take any of her medications over the past week. Please pray for a miraculous breakthrough and turn around in this, for Manny and her family, as there is no doubt that death is expected very soon. Thank you so much!
