"Jade" is a single mother who recently became pregnant by her ex-husband. She did not display any emotion during her appointment and wanted information on abortion. Because she works full time and is pursuing her education, the responsibility of another child seems like too much for her. When discussing abortion, she said she is "not a fan" of it and doesn't think it should be "a go-to form of birth control." She listened to the gospel presentation and allowed her nurse to lead her in a prayer to surrender her life to Christ. Please pray for Jade to truly live in humble submission to Christ. Pray her preborn baby's true value is revealed to her and she decides against abortion. ------- "Emily" is pregnant with her fifth child and considering abortion. She is unsure of who the father may be and lacks confidence about raising another child. Her pregnancy was too early to confirm but she asked many questions about chemical abortion. When asked if she had any internal tensions regarding getting an abortion, she said yes. Emily said her older son inexplicably said, "You have my baby brother in you," before she knew she was pregnant. Her nurse talked with Emily about the importance of God's guidance at crossroads in life and offered her an opportunity to surrender her life to Christ. Emily decided to do so. She went on to say she "felt something" when she pulled into the parking lot which she was now feeling again after praying. Please pray Emily becomes anchored in Christ and seeks His face during this time. Pray her child is spared from abortion and welcomed as a good and perfect gift.

"R" and "P" came to the center for their weekly joint parenting class. “R” asked for continuing prayer that she finds an apartment in a safe neighborhood. Also please pray that she finds a Bible based church to attend. Please pray that “P” will develop a relationship with the Lord. Also pray that he finds employment. -------- "T" is a mom to twins and a toddler. She doesn’t have a support system in place and, while she would love to do parenting and abortion recovery classes with us, she does not have childcare or reliable transportation. The mom feels alone, overwhelmed and stuck. Please pray for her to find the support of a church family to walk alongside her, and for provision of her material and financial needs as well. Praise the Lord, we were able to give her two highchairs and a double stroller and her children loved sitting in them!

"Danae" recently graduated from high school and is looking forward to starting college in the fall as a student athlete. Her pregnancy feels ill-timed and she is considering abortion. Her mother and the father of the baby support "whatever she decides," but the father of the baby expressed disappointment when she brought up abortion. At the beginning of the appointment, Danae was smiling and unemotional, saying she plans to get an abortion and wanted to confirm her pregnancy. After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, she was tearful. After examining the abortion brochure, she admitted she doesn't like the idea of abortion and doesn't believe in it. "It's killing something," she said. Her nurse suggested she take time to process the tension between her head and her heart and began talking with her about the gospel. Danae said she is a Christian and has wandered from her faith. She took the opportunity to recommit herself to Christ. Please pray for Danae to fully resolve to carry her pregnancy to term. Pray her love for Christ grows exponentially in the coming days and she trusts Him with her life and her child's. ------- "Stella", who identifies as a Christian, is feeling conflicted about her current pregnancy. She came to CompassCare looking for help making her decision. At first, she did not want to get an abortion. However, the father of the baby has totally abandoned her and cut off contact. She has been raising two children as a single mom and hadn't planned to become pregnant without a supportive father for her children. She's also in line for a promotion at work and fears a pregnancy could change her prospects. After the ultrasound, she commented, "It's innocent. I didn't expect to see that." She admitted to her nurse she knows she could parent another child, particularly with the support of her own parents. Stella went on to say she'd had an abortion before and still regrets it. Please pray Stella turns to God for the answers she needs and has faith to guide her through this uncertain time. Pray the life of this preborn boy or girl is spared from abortion.

UPDATE: Kevin was admitted to Highland last night because of an infection, and has been enduring multiple tests and treatments. He is in considerable pain and discomfort, but they're doing their best to keep him comfortable and to help him. His kidneys are also showing increasing signs of distress, which concerns the doctors. It's not known, at this point, when he might be able to return home, and he greatly appreciates your continued prayers for him.
