Please pray for Molly, who broke off her relationship with the father of her baby due to pressure to get a third abortion. She has had two abortions in the course of their relationship and said she has been severely depressed afterwards on both occasions. She does not want to get an abortion, but the father of the baby has been threatening her. A supportive friend accompanied her to CompassCare. Her affect was flat throughout the appointment and viability could not be confirmed at this time. She was not interested in surrendering her life to Christ. Please pray for Molly to turn to God for the strength she needs to resist the pressure to get an abortion. Pray for this child to be protected from the violent intents of his or her father and the abortionist. . . . .

Please also pray for Janice, a young mother raising an autistic child on her own. She just moved to the area to get services for her child, landed a job and bought a house. She felt things were finally coming together when she found out she is pregnant by a man with whom she has no meaningful relationship. "I don't want to have a child with him," she said. She also wants to focus on the needs of her firstborn. Janice's ultrasound revealed an early pregnancy and viability could not be determined. When discussing the gospel, she said she believes in God, talks to Him every day, and believes He made her who she is. Please pray Janice has the wisdom and grace to imagine a future raising two children. Pray both of her children flourish under God's protection.

UPDATES: "Meryl" (raising four children and caring for her elderly father while working and continuing her education) had previously decided to carry her pregnancy to term. However, anxiety about another C-section has caused her to vacillate on that decision. Her nurse contacted CompassCare's medical director, an OB/GYN, during the appointment and asked for information regarding Meryl's concerns. The doctor reassured Meryl she can safely have another C-section, which helped Meryl feel less fear. Her nurse again offered a connection with a MotherCare mentor. Meryl said she felt support from another woman would help solidify her decision to keep her baby. Please pray Meryl's mind and heart are protected from schemes of the enemy to discourage her and control her with fear. Pray God gives her the strength to continue her pregnancy with support from others. ------- "Joy" (immigrant raising young child on her own) is considering abortion due to feeling shame from being pregnant outside of marriage. She returned for a second appointment still feeling conflicted, trapped between the fear of being rejected by her community and potential guilt over getting an abortion. "I know God says it is a sin," she told her nurse. Joy feels totally alone, having only told the father of the baby about the pregnancy. He says the decision is up to her. Please pray God reveals Himself to Joy in a way that transforms her fear into confidence. Pray she has the strength to say no to abortion.

"Marion" arrived at CompassCare feeling anxious, wary, and alone. The father of the baby has completely abandoned her—even blocking her phone number—leaving her to question how she could have this baby. Believing abortion to be her only escape from this series of toxic decisions and events, she sought help at CompassCare. Marion was very guarded during her appointment and declined to share many details with her nurse at the time. She did mention that her family knows about her pregnancy, but did not indicate their level of support. Through the course of the appointment, she seemed to slowly let her guard down. However, it was during the ultrasound that she opened up to her nurse. Through tears at the sight of her healthy 7-week-old baby, she said, “I didn’t know that my baby had a heartbeat...” At the end of the appointment, Marion prayed with her nurse to recommit her life to Christ. She believes that abortion is wrong—even calling it murder—and agreed to spend some time to think about her decision. Please pray that God will give Marion the courage and strength to continue with her pregnancy, and praise God for her recommitment to Him. Pray that she will receive healing from her past and that God will reveal His love and support to her.
