"Fran", a former CompassCare patient, is determined to get an abortion and has an appointment at Planned Parenthood this week. She is a single mom who works full-time and is finishing her degree. While at work and school, her mother takes care of her toddler and Fran does not want to impose on her further. Her boyfriend, and father of this baby, will support whatever she decides. After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, Fran simply remarked, "It's what I expected." When her nurse shared the gospel, Fran said she has a relationship with God and believes He is forgiving and would want her to do what is best. She agreed to return for a follow-up appointment and another ultrasound before going to Planned Parenthood. Please pray for God's almighty hand to rest on Fran and her baby and protect them both. Pray her eyes are opened to the truth of God's love and she turns to Him for wisdom and guidance. Pray she returns for her follow-up and cancels her appointment for an abortion. -------- UPDATE: "Jolie" (pregnant by co-worker) decided to move forward with a chemical abortion at Planned Parenthood. After taking the first set of pills, Jolie changed her mind and reached out to CompassCare to talk about abortion pill reversal. She was offered an immediate appointment but she declined, wanting a bit more time to talk with the father of the baby. Jolie came to CompassCare the very next day. An ultrasound revealed a healthy, living baby and she started immediately on the abortion pill reversal, called progesterone therapy. When asked about the remaining abortion pills, Jolie said her mother disposed of them for her. Pray that Jolie will stay strong in her decision to continue her pregnancy. Praise God for relieving her nausea and vomiting, and allowing her family to step up and support her.

Bethany is a single mother of three living in this country without any support. She has recently immigrated to the Unites States and has a language barrier that makes life more difficult. Bethany is no longer in a relationship with the father of her baby and shared with her nurse that, in her culture, it is disgraceful to be an unwed mother. Because of this, she does not want to tell anyone she is pregnant. Bethany was unwavering in her decision to have an abortion until after she saw her baby on the ultrasound. When asked how she was feeling, she admitted that she is against abortion and is conflicted. Bethany describes herself as very religious, attends church regularly, and believes in Jesus. She declined an offer of support through MotherCare. Pray Bethany has the courage to share her pregnancy with her family and they receive the news well. Pray she sees the offer of MotherCare as a gift from God and reconsiders. Pray the Lord does a miracle in Bethany's heart and she sees a clear way forward in her pregnancy.

Bonnie C:

Please continue pray for safety all the US troops including my great grandson, "MacLaine", and like so many other US military personnel, they are "exhausted". That they by the grace of God, would be able to airlift to safety all US citizens, Christian missionaries and Afghan supporters. Bless you all.

Will you join in prayer for the people of Afghanistan? Please pray with me that rescue operations will continue and that more people will escape to safety. Pray for U.S. leaders to have wisdom and a great sense of urgency. Finally, pray that God will continue to lead Samaritan’s Purse as we seek to help those fleeing Afghanistan.

"Pearl" is a young woman raising a toddler alone, having been abandoned by the father before birth. Pearl has struggled with homelessness and unemployment over the past year. Her current boyfriend would like her to continue her pregnancy, but Pearl is uncertain of his true commitment. She has dreams of having a home and stability for her family and is working hard to attain them, but the chaos surrounding her current situation frightens her. Pearl was open with her nurse about previous abortion experiences and how they affected her. She admitted feeling truly alone, being estranged from her family, and not having any friends. When her nurse shared about Christ, Pearl said she grew up in church but wasn't ready to recommit her life to Jesus. Pearl was interested in further support and agreed to be contacted by a MotherCare mentor. Please pray Pearl will be able to connect quickly with a mentor. Pray God will work powerfully through this relationship giving Pearl the strength and support she needs to continue her pregnancy. Pray the love of Christ will manifest itself powerfully in Pearl's life and she will surrender to Jesus.
