CompassCare

"Karen" is in shock and disbelief about her pregnancy. She is no longer in a relationship with the father of the baby and her family and friends support her decision to get an abortion. When she was searching for abortion in her area, CompassCare came up and she scheduled an appointment. Though Karen's pregnancy is too early to be confirmed, she told her nurse she was glad she came to CompassCare first. She expressed concerns about the long-term effects of abortion on her mental health and she feels Planned Parenthood would have pressured her to move forward too quickly. She agreed to wait before making a final decision and scheduled a return appointment for next week. Please pray Karen will use this time wisely and think through her situation. Pray her family and friends will change their minds and support her continuing her pregnancy. Pray she returns for her follow-up appointment. -------- "Lydia" recently started college and now finds she is pregnant. She feels she is too young to have a baby and she doesn't want anything to interfere with her plans and goals. Lydia admitted to her nurse that she had an abortion earlier this year and claims it did not negatively affect her. Lydia's ultrasound revealed an eleven-week-old baby and when asked how she felt she simply said, "I can't keep it." Lydia professes to be a Christian and agreed to pray about her decision, as well as talk with her family. Please pray God will soften Lydia's heart toward her preborn baby. Pray her family will surround her with the love and support she needs to continue her pregnancy and still attend school. Pray the Lord will protect this child. --------- "Jennifer" recently found out she is pregnant and is completely overwhelmed. She works full-time and recently separated from her husband because of his substance abuse issues. She feels he is not a supportive father and is not sure she wants to have another baby with him. Jennifer's pregnancy was too early to confirm so she agreed to return for another ultrasound. When her nurse asked her how she was feeling, she stated she is a strong and independent person and could probably have this baby, but has already made up her mind not to. She has not yet told her husband, but plans to tell him before returning to CompassCare. Please pray God will bring Jennifer a sense of peace in this time of uncertainty. Pray she would have the courage to have her baby. Pray the Lord would bring Jennifer and her husband healing through this pregnancy.

Pray for Brady, our daughter-in-law's nephew. He is 9 years old, and has been diagnosed with celiac disease. But he is still very sick, and losing weight. They think it's something besides the celiac, and he will have an endoscopy and colonoscopy on October 11 to rule out colitis and crohn's disease. Thank you for your prayers.

At home he was confused with blood in his urine, vomiting, unsteady on his feet, and a kidney stone that he has had for some time. Please pray they will be able to determine what is wrong, that it's nothing serious, and that he gets the proper treatment. -------- Please pray for Ann L., a 98 year old Nursing Home resident who used to attend Koinonia. Her son called and requested prayer for her because she "isn't doing well". Thank you so much, Saints!!!

Please continue to pray for them. ------- Mike Grabowski's colostomy surgery has been postponed indefinitely because of the staffing shortage, but he knows God is in control and always has perfect timing. ------- Rick J. has medically good days and bad days because of his advancing liver condition. My sister-in-law Mary Ellen was found non-responsive Sunday by her husband with shallow breathing. She is in the ICU at a hospital in Nevada. She is saved as is her family. A Covid test will take 4 days they told him. She is getting 100% pure oxygen. She and her family have refused the vaccination. Saints please pray for mercy from the Lord for her to be treated properly, be healed and if she is awake through this that He would take away any anxiety or panic attacks.

December 2021 will be 50 years for their Anniversary.

Thank you for your prayers!

CompassCare

Mae is a married mother of three children and works full-time. She came to us hoping to get an abortion and was gently reminded of the services she would receive and agreed to stay. During the ultrasound Mae heard the heartbeat and admitted that it made her decision more difficult. She confessed to her nurse that finances were the sole reason she needed to get an abortion. Mae declined to schedule a return appointment, but agreed to take more time to talk things through with her husband. She was open to hearing the gospel message and allowed her nurse to pray for her. Please pray Mae will see a plausible way forward to having her baby and that her husband will encourage her to carry to term. Pray God's love would be revealed in a powerful way to both Mae and her husband.

Please pray for Anne a single mother of a grade school son who feels she cannot have another baby at this time. She has told her boyfriend but not her mother she is pregnant because her mother will want her to continue the pregnancy. Anne did not want to have an ultrasound but after some discussion understood the necessity of it but was reluctant to look at her baby on the screen. She admitted to her nurse that seeing her baby makes her decision to get an abortion all the more difficult. Anne and her nurse talked about Christ and she surrendered her life to Him. She scheduled a return appointment and agreed to take more time to think things through. Please pray Anne will have the courage to share her pregnancy with her family. Pray their response will be full of grace and support, encouraging her to reject the idea of abortion and spare the life of her preborn child.

Please pray for Samantha who recently found out she is pregnant and is not ready to have a baby. She admitted right away that she will most likely "get rid of it." When she told her mom about her pregnancy, her mother was against her getting an abortion. Samantha's pregnancy was too early to be confirmed and she agreed to return for a follow-up appointment before moving forward. Samantha admitted going to church as a child and when her nurse talked to her about surrendering her life to Christ she responded, "Sure. Why not?!" She agreed that God has a plan for her life and said she would pray about her situation. Please pray Samantha would use this time to seek wisdom from the Lord and talk further with her mom. Pray that God's almighty hand will be on Samantha and her preborn baby. Pray she will return for her follow-up appointment next week

CompassCare

"Liddy" came to CompassCare seeking nausea relief. Even though her religious beliefs forbid her to to get an abortion, she is adamant she cannot continue her pregnancy because she has one child and that is all she would like to have. Liddy was not moved at all by the five-week-old baby on the ultrasound screen and stated again, "I have made my decision." Due to her severe nausea, she was given an anti-nausea kit as well medication to relieve her illness. She declined to make a follow-up appointment. Please pray Liddy will have a miraculous change of heart and see the value of her child. Pray for God's protection over this baby and his life is spared. ------- UPDATES: "Dawn" (recent immigrant & newlywed in arragned marriage) and her husband returned for their follow-up appointment and their pregnancy was confirmed. They both felt the ultrasound gave them the information they needed. They will continue to think things through and agreed to a follow-up call next week. Please pray the Lord would soften their hearts to their preborn baby and they would see him as a blessing. Pray they will have the courage to share the news with their families. ------- "Holly" (single mother of 2 who was struggling to imagine having another child so soon after getting her life back on track) recently returned to CompassCare with her boyfriend and told her nurse she decided to have her baby! She said when her kids found out she was pregnant they were so excited and this caused her to have a "change of heart." This will be Holly's boyfriend's first baby and he was excited to see their nine-week-old baby on the ultrasound. Please continue to pray God will give Holly the strength and courage it takes to continue her pregnancy despite her difficult circumstances. Pray the Lord will continue to draw Holly and her family closer to each other and to Him. Pray her boyfriend will learn to be a good father to his child.
