CompassCare

From CompassCare: "Gina" came to CompassCare seeking abortion information. She is too far along to get an abortion in her hometown. Gina has one child and is supported by her mother. She feels her greatest obstacle to having another child is mental health issues. Her mother would like her to have her baby and is willing to help in any way she can. Gina showed little emotion when viewing the ultrasound screen. She coldly remarked, "I don't know what to say. I just want to get an abortion." Gina's nurse lovingly guided her to conversation about other options, including adoption, and shared that God can help in this difficult situation.

Pray God will use this opportunity to speak grace and mercy into Gina's life. Pray she will allow her mother to support her and she will continue her pregnancy. ----- "Gwen" is a mother of two and is experiencing severe nausea and vomiting. Her past pregnancies have been very difficult and she was warned against having another child. During the ultrasound, Gwen became tearful and expressed remorse about a previous abortion. When her nurse shared the gospel, Gina responded with emotion stating, "I have never heard that before." She agreed to return for a follow-up appointment and to meet with a MotherCare volunteer. Please pray the Lord will relieve Gwen of her discomfort and sickness. Pray He will give her courage to continue her pregnancy despite her perceived risks. Pray also for a solid MotherCare connection. -------- "Tracey" is pregnant with her first child, but at this point, she is unsure about what to do. Her boyfriend, who has children already, would like her to continue the pregnancy. The ultrasound revealed a 6-week-old baby and Tracey heard his heartbeat. She declined to stay for any further discussion with her nurse but did schedule a return appointment. Please pray that God will open Tracey's heart to bond with her preborn baby. Pray her boyfriend will boldly advocate on behalf of his child and pray Tracey returns for her follow-up appointment.

CompassCare

"Fran", a former CompassCare patient, is determined to get an abortion and has an appointment at Planned Parenthood this week. She is a single mom who works full-time and is finishing her degree. While at work and school, her mother takes care of her toddler and Fran does not want to impose on her further. Her boyfriend, and father of this baby, will support whatever she decides. After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, Fran simply remarked, "It's what I expected." When her nurse shared the gospel, Fran said she has a relationship with God and believes He is forgiving and would want her to do what is best. She agreed to return for a follow-up appointment and another ultrasound before going to Planned Parenthood. Please pray for God's almighty hand to rest on Fran and her baby and protect them both. Pray her eyes are opened to the truth of God's love and she turns to Him for wisdom and guidance. Pray she returns for her follow-up and cancels her appointment for an abortion. -------- UPDATE: "Jolie" (pregnant by co-worker) decided to move forward with a chemical abortion at Planned Parenthood. After taking the first set of pills, Jolie changed her mind and reached out to CompassCare to talk about abortion pill reversal. She was offered an immediate appointment but she declined, wanting a bit more time to talk with the father of the baby. Jolie came to CompassCare the very next day. An ultrasound revealed a healthy, living baby and she started immediately on the abortion pill reversal, called progesterone therapy. When asked about the remaining abortion pills, Jolie said her mother disposed of them for her. Pray that Jolie will stay strong in her decision to continue her pregnancy. Praise God for relieving her nausea and vomiting, and allowing her family to step up and support her.
