"Ana" came to CompassCare for a pregnancy test. When her nurse told her she was pregnant, Ana immediately started crying. She has a young child at home and cannot imagine having another one right now. She is not in a relationship with the father of her baby, and she currently lives with her mom who is pressuring her to have an abortion. Ana's pregnancy was too early to confirm and her nurse encouraged her to take this time to consider all of her options, including the possibility of making an adoption plan. Ana's mother is scheduling an appointment with Planned Parenthood and when asked if she was on board with this, Ana simply replied, "I just don't want to be pregnant."
Please pray Ana would have the courage to make her own decision about her pregnancy. Pray that she will use this time to truly consider the life of her preborn child and spare his life. -------- UPDATE: "Lissy's" pregnancy was recently confirmed. She still has not told her parents and her boyfriend now supports her decision to get an abortion. Lissy was emotional throughout her appointment and refused to look at the ultrasound screen. She told her nurse plainly, "It will be okay. I just need to get this over with and move on." She has an appointment scheduled with Planned Parenthood. Please continue to pray that Lissy will have the courage to tell her parents she is pregnant. Pray that God will intervene on behalf of this preborn child and Lissy will cancel her appointment for an abortion.

UPDATES: Steve Hollis is anticipating being discharged from the Jewish Home this month and requests prayer "that the supplies. nursing staff and the PT/OT will be in place for him. It is a real concern since many placed are experiencing short staffing issues. Thank you all so much." ------- Pam Schwartz was not cleared to return to work because she continues to experience "post operative back pain and left leg /foot tingling /numbness". Her physician has her on specific medications and hopefully in time she will be feeling good enough to return to work. Her next physician’s appointment is on October 1. -------- Mike Grabowski’s colostomy surgery at Strong was postponed last week and is now rescheduled for September 20. Mike hopes this surgery will allow him to eventually return home to be with his family, as he's been away for many months now. -------- Tom Chiavetta is at the "Golisano Restorative Center" receiving therapy & PT to enable him to walk after his second spinal surgery. Progress is slow, but improving daily. He still has a loss of feeling /numbness in both feet and thankfully seems to be gaining some strength and confidence each day. Please continue praying for the Lord's healing and His peace over Tom.
