Children’s Ministry

Parents are invited to check out our Children’s Ministry. We provide a safe space where kids can worship, pray and hear age-appropriate lessons from God’s Word.
When we meet:
Sundays at 10:30 am
Wednesdays at 7:00 pm
We have a full children’s program every Sunday at 10:30 am for infants through age 11. Nursery and toddler rooms are on the first floor, along with the Nursing Mothers room. Bible study and activities for ages 5 through 11 years old are on the third floor. We also have a children’s program for kids 5-11 on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm.
What To Expect
Every child must be checked in and out by a parent before class. All teachers and helpers undergo a background check before being cleared to serve in the Children’s Ministry. If you have been at Koinonia for 6 months and are interested in volunteering, contact Lynna Donnor at ldonnor@koinoniafellowship.com.
We start with a time of worship and then share prayer requests and pray for each other. After that we split into groups by age for a bible lesson and guided discussion. We usually incorporate a craft, game or activity related to each lesson.
Our curriculum is from Answers in Genesis which brings the Bible to life and addresses real-life issues that confront kids today. Our goal is that students will gain a thorough understanding of the Scriptures, starting with who God is and what is His plan of salvation. Our prayer is that all will be conformed to the image of Christ and equipped to share their faith as they learn to apply God’s Word in their everyday lives.
How does Koinonia keep my kids safe?
All of our team members complete a thorough application process and must pass a background check. Additionally, our secure check-in process ensures that children are only released from classrooms to a parent or guardian with a matching security tag. As part of the check-in process, we require a phone number so that we can reach you in the event of an issue.
Can I stay with my kids?
We understand some parents may feel the need to remain with their children while at church, whether in the classroom with your child, or keeping your child with you in the main service in our sanctuary. Please know that we are willing and comfortable with welcoming kids who are struggling to separate from their parents. Just let a team member know you’d like to stick around!
If you’d like to keep your kids with you during the main adult service, you are welcome to do so. You can also make use of our family viewing area in the Agape Hall, where the service is broadcast for your convenience.
Can I pre-register my kids?
You sure can!
One of the best benefits of pre-registering your kids ahead of time is that you’ll save time when you arrive at Koinonia. Normally, you’d have to provide your information and your child’s information at our check-in desk. While this is a fairly simple process, it’ll be one less thing you have to do on Sunday morning.

What do you teach my kids?
We firmly believe we’re called to share about God’s love with everyone, including your kids. The Bible is the most amazing book ever written, and we strive to bring its stories to life through creative activities and discussions that keep kids engaged.
Here’s an overview of what your child will learn about when they join us at Koinonia:
- The God who loves them more than any other
- Biblical truths they can apply and stand on for the rest of their lives
- What it means to be a Christ-follower and how to grow in a relationship with Him
- How much fun they can have at church!
Everything we do at Koinonia, from lessons to play and everything in between, aligns with our beliefs as a church. Read our Statement of Faith here.
