A group of men from Koinonia gathered at LeTourneau Christian Center on Canandaigua Lake on April 25-26 for a retreat focused on fellowship, discipleship, and spiritual growth. The retreat brought together men of different ages and backgrounds, fostering meaningful connections and mutual encouragement.
Three speakers—John, Hayden, and Dan—shared messages centered on discipleship:
- John spoke on what not to do in discipleship, drawing lessons from the life of King David.
- Hayden emphasized the importance of identifying the right individuals to disciple and be discipled by.
- Dan shared practical insights and personal experiences on how to disciple others like Jesus.
A highlight of the retreat was a powerful prayer session, where men were encouraged to pray with someone they didn’t know well. This time of openness and vulnerability deepened connections among participants.
Fellowship was also central to the retreat, providing opportunities for men to strengthen one another in line with Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
The retreat was a refreshing time of growth, camaraderie, and spiritual enrichment for all who attended.
