Sixty ladies gathered together on a very cold night on Thursday, January 23 for our first Agape Dinner of the New Year! Sixty ladies enjoyed some sweet fellowship around the tables as we dove into 2025 with a dinner of quartered subs, four different kinds of salad, chips, and a marbled sheet cake.

After dinner Kathy Langer played guitar and led us before the throne of God with worship unto the King of Kings! The pinnacle of the evening came as Sue Griffin came up to share the Word of God with us, exploring the names for God and their meanings.

Her initial text was taken from Ex. 24:6,7 and she entitled her talk, “Jehovah, I Am.” She also included the compound names of Jehovah as in:

  • Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Provides) Gen. 22:14
  • Jehovah Nissi (The Lord is My Banner) Ex. 17:15
  • Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord is My Righteousness) Jer. 23:5
  • Jehovah Shalom (The Lord is Peace) Judges 6:24
  • Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is There) Ez. 48:35

She closed out with Yehoshua “The Lord is Salvation” which in Greek is the meaning of Jesus as “He shall save His people from their sins.”

It was a compelling message and she provided notes to take home and to use in our prayer time as we address God personally. If you would like the teaching handout, please let the church office know and they can send them to you via email.

I hope to see you at our next Agape Dinner on February 27. Please sign up below or in the church office by February 20 at the very latest. Thank you!
