Bringing Good News to our Senior Population

Koinonia Fellowship Nursing Home Ministry

In Mark’s gospel {Mark 16:15} Jesus exhorts his disciples to: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Those of us who heard the call of the LORD on our hearts to go and bring the good news of hope, forgiveness and salvation to the residents in nursing homes, assisted living, and rehabilitation centers truly count it all joy to be able to minister God’s love to our senior population!

Today we have the wonderful opportunity to be actively involved in eight different locations within the City of Rochester and Monroe County’s east side. The Lord has raised up a team of volunteers who are gifted in the following areas of ministry:

  • Personal friendship and encouragement
  • Worshiping and praising the Lord together
  • Praying with residents
  • Teaching the Word of God

Jesus said in John 13:34,35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The Koinonia Nursing Home outreach counts it a great privilege to minister to those seniors who so often are unable to attend their home church. Our great joy is to bring the inspired word of God to our elderly population on a regular basis. {Our actual weekly nursing home schedule can be found on the Koinonia Fellowship website under Ministries/missions.}
Please feel welcome to join us anytime and thank you for your continued prayers for the Nursing Home Ministry!

By His grace, Tony & Ann Joseph
